Agree. Still mystifies me why we didn't see more of him last year, especially considering how ole Musgrove called plays.

Now I'm not sure if he would be cheap to get but that would be what would make more sense with our rebuilding team.
As always, great stuff my friend, and I agree, he is a much better option and fits with the "Get younger" mantra we have been hearing, but 10mil doesn't give you many options when it comes to FA's this year.

I agree. Let Rudy take over the main work load and keep Shanc if its reasonable. Again, rationale behind that is the draft class is terrible and FA is even worse....

Which is also why Shank won't be reasonable.

Meh ... the FA class is not THAT bad.

Shank will likely want too much dough to keep around so we need to fill it elsewhere. We can easily get similar production out of a player like Jacob Tamme, Marcedes Lewis (who killed his value with a bad 2011), Kellen Davis, Scott Chandler, John Carlson or Martellus Bennett.

There is plenty there to bring in if Shank commands too high.

Because of that, I think its safe to say that Shanc might not be back. Not because of his attitude, but because of what he will make and that is probably more than we can pay this year.
so he can pull an 'Edwards' then.. get overpaid for minimal production. He's played well before but his opinion on what he does for the team doesn't always match up with his performance. Now is the time to make better use of Rudolph as I think the kid has a lot to offer and has the chance to build a good relationship with Ponder.
Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Well he was a junior coming out of college that missed a good chunk of his last season in Notre Dame, that and no mini camps with a shorten preseason probably hampered some of his transition to the pro game.

On the upside it looks like John Carlson is swinging through the twin cities it appears that he's looking for greener grass than Seattle

illustrates the costs of quarterback and scheme instability
So he's looking a KC and the Vikings for quarterback stability......some might say wow how bad are things in Seattle
