Re: You can't defend a perfect pass

It was annoying, but the worst thing I heard was when one of them said that Culpepper played good the second half because he looked across the field and saw how well Favre was playing. BS. If that was the reason, then how come every QB doesn't play great against Favre in the second half.

Our defense REALLY NEEDS TO STEP UP ANOTHER NOTCH the rest of the season. We played the Packers without JAVON WALKER AND ROBERT FEGUSON. Our pass rush and coverage WERE HORRIBLE. Our run defense was GOOD.

i think i saw farve get popped about five times as he let the ball go. if coverage would have been tighter the vikes would have had a few sacks. i think the pass rush was there, the corners just needed to play tighter. the catch that chatman guy caught in the endzone looked similar to the one at the end of the DET abd Bucs game. still a little confused about that. the packers we're on the field and lining up for the point after rather fast.

Good god, Im starting to wonder if you are a troll. I mean, do you ever smile about a damn thing. Absolutely obnoxious, as well as absolutely incorrect. We were bad at pass rush and coverage for a bit, but definitely not 'horrible' and our run defense was very good. Playing teams without anyone is part of football. Just make excuses like the crybabies next door, as a matter of fact go hang out with them since you hate the Vikes so much

Nice catch! That's what I remember as well! I know PHAT Williams hit him on two occasions after releasing the ball and I thought, "How in the Heck did Brett get up from those hay makers?" I wonder how old Bretty boy is feeling right about now! LOL!! PRICELESS!!!

New team name: Minnesota Rodney Dangerfields

I just finished watching the game today, and I am truley convinced that the Vikes get no respect! On the other side of this coin, the Packers get so much praise, you swear that they are sitting on the Right Hand of the Father.....you'd think they are perfect, even when they make mistakes. But according to one of the announcers, "you can't defend a perfectly thrown pass". Even the ones that were off the mark. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was a receiver on the end of those "perfect passes", wasn't there? The last touchdown that Pep threw to Moore, the commentator said, "....the only thing that the Vikings did wrong on this drive is to leave number 4 with too much time". Someone somewhere on this site has already pointed this out, but I just saw it for myself! Now before all you Packer fans load up and get ready to fire on me, the Pack played a great game, and Favre is a great QB. Driver is a great receiver, and Green is a great running back. Nobody can take that away. But Favre gets so verbally stroked by commentators that the broadcast should be rated X, and come with a moist towellette and cigarette to enjoy afterwards! Going back to my opening sentence, even when Minnesoat did something right, they (commentators) were making negative comments about them. Even the article in the local Tucson paper featured the Pack, and gave their opponent for next week. Did the Vikes get any love? No.
There. I'm finished. You can take your shots now. By the way, my brother in Iraq sent me a pic of him shooting a cheesehead with an M-16, then flushing it down the toilet. I wish I had them to post. It was a spectacular victory!!SKOL VIKES!!!

    Peace through superior firepower!

It was "Ihatealharris" that pointed this out on another thread. Sorry bro, didn't mean to steal your thunder.

Re: You can't defend a perfect pass

I am fairly sure that it was Bill Maas a couple of weeks ago who got on the "it is a smart thing to play for the punt in that situation" kick. After the 2nd time I heard that the volume got turned off. Some of these former player announcers can be extremely annoying when they get stuck on a subject. Joe Theismann may be the worst.

Maas is a bit of a meathead.

When you run out of smart things to say, it usually pays to gush and gush about whoever is doing something on the field.

    Paul McGuire anyone?
Have you ever seen a race of turtles, and they all go the wrong way instead of towards the finish line?

    Welcome to the NFC North.
