The Associated Press reports the Green Bay Packers will retire former QB Brett Favre's number during the 2008 season, according to the team's president and chief executive officer Mark Murphy.

My sources tell me that reports are about to break that Favre is retiring to fulfill a long-ago promise to his father to take part in the professional curling tour.
Contrary to what internet blogs are reporting, it's not because he owes Wisconsin sheep farmers millions of dollars for "services rendered" and that they were planning on pelting Lambeau with sheep doodoo for the season-opener.
