    Lol ... giving credit?

The Packers 4 wins are against teams with a combined record of 5-21 ... that is about as dreadful as it gets. While they have played two teams over .500 (the 5-2 Bengals and 6-1 Vikings) and gotten handled with relative ease.

The Vikings on the other hand have 6 wins over teams that are a combined 12-26 (not great, but much better than 5-21) and have one loss to a 5-2 team in a very close contest that came down to more or less dumb luck.

The Packers will deserve "credit" when and if they beat us or some other worthwhile team ... otherwise they are just beating on cupcakes.

BTW ... the Packers are going to lose to the Ravens and Steelers later this season. And I would not mark the 49ers down as a win either.
keep in mind, we played the lions and browns, and gave up more points than they did.
That in no way means we're a worse team, but it does take some skill to hold two teams to a combined 3 points, regardless of how bad they are.
The Packers are an alright team, just not as good as the fans would like to believe.

Once again, when they beat a good team, then they can talk.
    Until then they're wannabes.
Yes ... we played an inspired Browns and Lions team. And the Browns scored a punt return TD and a late TD we did not give a shit about ... otherwise our defense was pretty even on them as the Packers.

The Lions ... it was their home opener and they still did not have that win ... they had a lot to play for. When they were in Green Bay ... they were on the road where they had not won in like 15+ years, they had lost their rookie QB and just did not have much to be hyped for.

So ... no ... I don't really look at their performances against these two crappy teams as much better. Sure, we fucked around a little more than we should have, but whatever.

I also am not claiming our defense is something great ... just claiming that the Packers suck when they face someone good ... and we will prove it again this weekend.

I'm not saying, nor implying they're better.
I'm just giving them credit for playing well.

Wow this discussion should not even be this debatable. Min defense is playing like a .500 caliber team right now

Steelers game should not have even been that close.... Mendenhall fumbled on the 3 yard line.. thats 20-10 and then favre would prolly throw an INT.
    :P

Ravens game.... COLLAPSE with a Capital C by who "the Defense"
Garbage Ravens kicker misses a FG :

48ers game..... uh don;t have to even say anything. how do you just not push the guy out while he is in the Air, Problem solved.

    Rams - 10 points
    :-\ meh, OK

Detroit - 13 points Come on, seriously anything higher than that would have been a disgrace.
and I don't want to hear that Calvin Johnson BS cause good secondary can keep him form doing TOO much damage.

CLE - 20 points, really with the running game you use, that is bad.

You realize in both the Detroit and Cleveland games we were playing backups in the second half, and the leveland game saw one of the best kick returners in the league take one to the house.

    And the Rams game, too.
Only one defensive starter was on the field for the entire 4th quarter (Ced Griffin).

You forgot to mention the most disappointing game of the season, when the defense gave up 23 points to a terrible Packers squad.
I mean, we can come up with all the excuses we want - the team was up by three scores and started playing soft, some of those points came from the offense, etc. - but at the end of the day allowing 23 points against one of the most disgraceful franchises in the NFL is unacceptable.

I mean, it's one thing to win against a bad team, but it's also important how you win.
You can't let a team like Green Bay walk out with a moral victory, thinking they are actually only 7 points worse than the Vikings.

If I were on this Vikings defense I would be praying for a chance to redeem myself and put put Aaron Rodgers on his back a few more times.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]
