While you guys have faced super powers like the Browns, Lions and Gore-less 49ers.

Given, I think that these stats are a bit skewed at this point, but give credit where credit is due. Our defense is better than it was last year.

I agree with V4L, though. It still looks like Kampman is very uncomfortable, still.

true, we have, but we've played more talented teams than the packers have, and our record is better.

    Packers opponents combined record:

    Bears: 3-3 Win
    Bengals: 5-2 L
    Rams: 0-7 W
    Vikings: 6-1 L
    Lions: 1-5 W
    Browns 1-6 W

Total combined winning percentage: 16-24, 0.400%
Winning percentage of teams you lost to: 11-3, .7857%
Winning percentage of teams you beat: 5-21, 0.192%

    Vikings:
    Browns: 1-6 W
    Lions: 1-6 W
    49ers: 3-3 W
    Packers: 4-2 W
    Rams: 0-7 W
    Ravens: 3-3 W
    Steelers: 5-2 L

    Combined winning percentage: 17-29, .369%
Winning percentage of teams we lost to: 5-2 .714%
Winning Percentage of teams we beat: 12-27, 0.308%

I think that quite clearly shows, that the teams you beat, are worse than the teams we beat.
We lost one game that we played very well, much better than the score would indicate, you were never really close in either of your losses.
We had a legit shot at being 7-0 at this point, you did not.

Yes, your defense is improved, but you can't use the "you played shitty teams though" because you've played worse teams.

You have yet to beat a team with a winning record.

You left a team off the list of teams the Vikings beat, Green Bay Packers.

Sure the Packer D may have improved but the Vikings QB position has changed since the Packers last had a win over the Vikings, and even the young purple #7 would look more comfortable under center than Kampman covering Shank, CT or Harvin.

Well, yes. That was one of our first games, though. The defense was totally focused in on the run, letting the way open for Favre to carve us up. Miscalculation or just getting used to the 3-4. It ought to have been one of those.

I mean, the defense has looked way better the last 2 weeks.

I know, I know, it was against the Lions and the Browns, but holding two teams to a combined 3 points is still decently impressive. You should know, you played both yourself, as well.

Still, that O-line looks rather shaky to me. Lang is looking like a stopgap solution now, though. Something I mean as a positive, more than a negative.

I'll give them credit for holding them to 3 points, sure they're terrible teams, but its not easy to shut out anyone.
Having said that, I still can't say the Packers are improving based on the fact they blew out the two worst teams in the league.
This week will be a good test for both teams.

Re: What's so great about Dom Capers?

    Lol ... giving credit?

The Packers 4 wins are against teams with a combined record of 5-21 ... that is about as dreadful as it gets. While they have played two teams over .500 (the 5-2 Bengals and 6-1 Vikings) and gotten handled with relative ease.

The Vikings on the other hand have 6 wins over teams that are a combined 12-26 (not great, but much better than 5-21) and have one loss to a 5-2 team in a very close contest that came down to more or less dumb luck.

The Packers will deserve "credit" when and if they beat us or some other worthwhile team ... otherwise they are just beating on cupcakes.

BTW ... the Packers are going to lose to the Ravens and Steelers later this season. And I would not mark the 49ers down as a win either.

One of your first games? It was week fucking 4. You had played three damn games. Early in the season excuse still used for that one? That is a joke.

Rodgers is going to be on his ass this entire game as well.

keep in mind, we played the lions and browns, and gave up more points than they did.
That in no way means we're a worse team, but it does take some skill to hold two teams to a combined 3 points, regardless of how bad they are.
The Packers are an alright team, just not as good as the fans would like to believe.

Once again, when they beat a good team, then they can talk.
    Until then they're wannabes.
