We NEVER would have had Aikman (he was the first overall pick that they "earned" by having that 1-15 record in JJ's first season as coach)...nor would we have gotten Irvin (who wants him anyway, we had better with CC, AC, etc.). Now we could have gotten Emmitt, since he was chosen with the first rounder that we gave Dallass...but there is no guarantee that we would have chosen him anyway. The fact of the matter is that Mike *I walk around with my head in my a$$* Lynn gave away the farm for a player that was totally misused by Jerry Burns and his staff...and gave the Cowboys the foundation to win their SBs in the 90s!

Well said. Bad trade, but totally misused. Not making the trade probably wouldn't have made much of a difference for the Vikes. The Cowboys put together a good team that no doubt was thanks to the Vikes, but the Vikes wouldn't have put together the same team that the boys had.

I have a feeling back to back years of trading Randy and Dante may just make our trade history worse.....we will see. When Peter King gets a sinking feeling that we are trading Dante, I am scared.

i don't think the vikings would have put a team together like dallas did, i mean they got a lot of picks from us then they had that much more picks we just helped them a lot. plus our management sucked real bad

I'm just curious Jeff,

We traded for Walker back in 1989, 17 years ago.

How do you know our management sucked or if we wouldn't have been able to put a team together, considering you're in college now & you were about 4 or 5 tops, at the time of the trade?
