OJ and Chmiura both had charges filed.
This is a fun story because it is the Packers though.
And I love watching their defense get thinner and thinner.

That defense getting thinner and thinner? Jolly has been replaced in the draft, the guy involved in this will still be on the team and our secondary is light years ahead of the Vikes. We don't yet have the pass rush you do, but just wait.birdman wrote:

Tell me ... if Jolly was on the team would he be starting. That would be a yes. So him gone hurts ... might not hurt a lot, but I find it funny when people think a second round draft pick can come right in and be better than a solid veteran.
And if this is a player off the roster that was supposed to be there, that would be two players out. Thus getting thinner and thinner.
Did I say their defense would suck? No. Are they getting thinner ... yes. That is a fact. Even if they just lose Jolly, they are thinner than they wanted to be ... and if "this guy" is gone ... that is a second guy replaced by a guy who would not be on the team otherwise. That pretty much is the definition of thinner.

Underwood WILL make the team, so it's not getting thinner. And as good as Jolly was, he was prone to IDIOTIC play. Example: First Packer-Vike game last year. Barnett makes a great play at the goal line on third down. Vikes field goal team prepping to come in. After the play a vike bumps Jolly and he gets a fifteen yard unsportsmanlike penalty. Vikes get a TD and a big momentum shift.birdman wrote:

Plays like that were common from this guy, who has a five cent brain to go with his million dollar talent.
Raji will be improved, if he stays healthy. Jones will be starting OLB from the first game. I think our D will be improved, not thinner.None

You'll have a hard time convincing Vikings fans of that. Of the 3 games I remember watching(2 against the Vikings, 1 playoff game) the Packers gave up 12TD with 0int.midgensa wrote:

That's some very selective picking, but you're right, the defense didn't show up when we needed them most.birdman wrote:

Jolly hasn't been replaced. Neal and Jolly are different players. The D-line looks like Pickett - Raji - Jenkins. Pickett is better at eating up blocks than Jolly. Maybe he'll be slightly worse at pass rushing, but Johnny wasn't exactly a star at that either. He was hyped because of some athletic splash plays like the interception and the fumble recovery.
Neal was drafted with our weak pass rush in mind. Everyone's harping on OLBs, but if your DEs can get to the QB and your NT can push the pocket (insert Raji at NT instead of Pickett) it makes a difference."You can look pretty smart if you have a knack for planning ahead. That's Ted. The Packers are in good hands." - Ron Wolf
