    Packers/Favre- media attention

Eyesore you got most of it right except the part on the world championchip part. THe vikes actually and technically do have a world championchip by beating the browns in i belive 69 but lost to the chefs in the superbowl.

    WOrld championchips-1
    SUperbowl champs-0.

And yes you guys do have a ton of bandwagoners. Did you see the part where al micheals was talking about the packer fans leaving the stadium in the third quarter against the titans? Their was just rows of them and pretty much priceless.

    Hawaiinvike21,

You are incorrect, as the vikes have ZERO (0) world championships.
In 1969 you were NFL champs, (prior to the NFL-AFL merger.)
NLF champs in 1969 is the eqalivant of being NFC champs today. Either way you put it, it sounds good, but what it all really means is your better than only HALF of all pro teams.

The world champs in 1969 were the K.C. Chiefs. ( the team that beat your team)

    Lets recap

    World championships 0
    Superbowl champs 0

And what about those 12 Packers championships, most of which were back in the early 20th century when there were only like 6 teams in the league? Do those count as equally as after the NFL/AFL merger? Don't think so. Sounds good and all, but not much competition back then, huh. Pretty much means you were better than the 5 other teams out there.

We are not fair-weathered fans like most Packers fans are. We do not need "12 championships" to be content with our team. We are all true fans and will stick by our team no matter what. We will have our glory eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later.
    Skol!
    Go Vikings!

    I don't blame you Vikings fan for resenting all the recent Packer/Favre media hype, but there is a reason we are getting it all, and your not;
I'll take these one at a time.

    You have no world championships.
Yes, however since we didn't exist until 1961, it isn't really fair to compare "what was" prior to our existence. I covered this previously with another Packer fan and showed conclusively that - aside from Superbowls - Minnesota has actually been the more effective team over the last 44 years.

    2. Favre gets more attention than Dawn-tay because he's done many things that no other NFL QB has ever done, and did it with class.
Dawn-tay (while a good QB) has to go many years yet to get there.
What has Brett done - aside from consequtive starts that "No other QB has done"?

    3. The pack plays in what is considered in the NFL as the "mecca".
Your team plays in the Metrodump. (You deserve a better venue!)
This one I agree with...although it sure was nice to ruin your rededication

    4. The packers have a far bigger national fan based following.
Vikings fan base is more of a regional following
And this only proves my theory that the world is full of stupid people. The number of fans has absolutely no bearing on the quality of the teams TODAY.

    5. There is way more Packer "gear" sold every year than most NFL teams
Ragnar and his friends in the Capitol One (whats in your wallet?)
commercials are an ugly bunch of dirty skanks.
See above. More gear sold simply means more gear going to goodwill to clothe poor people in obscure third world nations.

    Caine,

Let me start off by saying it must really suck to be in Janesville & be a Vikes fan, as I KNOW you are taking alot of shit for it.

Let me finish by saying (in regards to my topic staring post) that theres a reason the Packers are on MNF 3 times a season (most the NFL will allow)
It is because ABC knows they will get good national ratings.

I'll be the first to say this, but I strongly believe MNF scheduled this particular game back in April full well expecting (knowing) Favre would make his 200th start.

    Lets recap;

Packers/Favre on primetime is disirous for any of the networks

    Need more?

The Dec 12th game (lions) has been move from noon, to 3:15 FOX
The Dec 19th game (Jags) has been moved from noon to 3:15 CBS

That is probably true...but then again this is the country full of cultural conservatives (read: bigoted, self-righteous jerks) that just reelected Bush based mainly on their desire to dictate their moral values on all of society...what I can't understand is that they would root for a team called the Packers when they are all against same-sex marriage. :bootyshake: :argue:
