    Re: Packers 2009 preseason.

Anyone care to do the research on how well the Vikings have done the past 2 years against the 3-4 defense?

If I remember correctly, they have a pretty good record/score against it.
And I do know that Merriman and the Chargers were running it when AP locked up the single game rushing record.

    Anyway, it's still preseason.
I'll be concerned on week 4 when the two undefeated teams go up against each other...

300+ yards rushing against the Chargers, 2 years ago. That's a good starting point.

Who was their D-Co that year.
I think it was our castoff.
Did that have a part in this?

Yeah, the Packers look scary. In a way I am glad so that we can start the regular season with Greenbay being the consensus favorite and Chicago next. The Favre-Vikings are still a huge question mark that could go either way. Thankfully we have 3 easier games to start the season and figure ourselves out before we play the Pack.

I will be VERY dissapointed if the NFC North doesn't have two teams in the playoffs this year.
Under the radar, I like that.
I like the easier teams idea.....

Vikings and the Pack should make the playoffs.
The East should be strong too.

Remember when TJ picked apart the Cardinals? Favre? Pass defense. This seems to be something the Cards lack.

I just think the Packers are going to be very, very good this year.
Should make for some exciting black and blue division football.

    The Pack looks scary!
They look better than us an appear to have a coaching staff that has it together mentally.

The only the thing is that it almost look like the pack is showing everything on their defense (blitzes etc). They are doing what they will do during a regular season game. The offenses they play seem VERY vanilla... im gonna wait till the season starts to see how the pack does.

    Re: Packers 2009 preseason.

IMO the one thing the Packer lack is depth.
If Brett goes down or if he fades we still have Rosie and TJ to back him up and even Booty looks like he could run the offense. I am not sure the Packers are as happy with their depth at that position. Actually I believe we have more depth across the board. Hell, I would take CT over Grant any day of the week and we have more depth on the d-line, LB and TE positions. They may have us in the secondary possibly but that is it.

In the end as usual it is going to come down to injuries and how the teams deal with them. This is the healthiest we have been in the Chillyball era on both sides of the ball so that should play in our favor.
