So, let’s have the Vikings revert back to 1926 and we can have a Duluth Eskimos / ACME Packer game!

Vikes were never the Eskimos. There was no team that turned into the Vikes. Minneapolis had a pro team briefly, I think called the Marines then Red Jackets. In 1959, Minneapolis was awarded an AFL franchise, which was given up and replaced with an NFL franchise in 1960. Since then the Vikings have been going strong, wearing the same basic uniform, with slight variations until they went to what we know now.Quote:

Although, a recreation of that would be sweet. In October 3, 1926, the Green Bay Packers and the Duluth Eskimos played on of the few games ever to end in a 0-0 Tie
You are correct in saying that the Vikings were never the Eskimos. But that doesn't mean the Eskimos didn't have anything to do with the Vikings. First off, they were a Minnesota team. Secondly, the owner of the Eskimos, Ole Haugsrud, was awarded as part of the sale of the Eskimos to the NFL at least 10% ownership of any future Minnesota NFL team. When Minnesota was awarded a team, Ole supposedly had a big say in the team name, and recommended the Vikings (Ole went to high school at Superior Central (which is now torn down). Their mascot? The Vikings.
I went to Superior Central, and while Wikipedia says their colors were purple and white, during my time at Central, our colors were green and gold.

I actually thought I'd seen it all the way some of you talk about the Vikes uni's. Now your talking about the PUKER uni's......
