Packer Fans Still Riled Up Over Farve Throw
From PFT - http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
We've received several e-mails over the past eight days from Packers fans who are complaining openly about the performance of quarterback Brett Favre in the NFC Championship.
Some are even taking the position that he should walk away now so that a young and improving team can continue to do so with a young and improving quarterback.
And their argument is driven by a photo that has been making the rounds over the past few days.
It's an image of the interception thrown by Favre in overtime against the Giants.
You know, the interception that set the table for the game-winning field goal by New York.
Here it is.

With no real pressure and plenty of time to deliver the ball, Favre opted to throw the out route to the player who was covered more closely than any of the four
receivers.Kentucky Vikes Fan

LOL.. it took a week and many pages, but on the Packer board the thread was finally locked.. earlier in the week I would say it was the talk of Wisconsin, but it has quieted now.
Interesting how fans turn on one flick of the ball even though we went 14-4... bitter fans.

Re: Packer Fans Still Riled Up Over Farve Throw
We have all tossed the pigskin around the yard.
You think you can make the throw!
You let it go wrong!
The WR doesn't quite run where you thought he was going.
Granted Favre is a pro and we are not, he was pretty dead on all season.
He just chose the wrong time to have a bad game.
On that throw, he may have made up his mind where he was going with it before the ball was even snapped.
Maybe that was a play the WR had been open on previously.
Fact is, he didn't put it in the spot that only his WR could get to it.
INT Baby!

I'd like to see a snapshot taken before he threw the ball.

Totally agree on that point, Stallion. Although it looks like Jennings (on the left) was so much more open that he MUST have been the better option probably from the snap, there's no way to tell from that photo whether Favre could or couldn't see Jennings over any linemen prior to releasing the ball."NDVikingFan66" wrote:

...Wow, I'm defending Favre :-X
BTW, anybody else spot the painfully blatant holding penalty in the photo?

I'm very suprised Packer fans are still upset with Favre over that interception.

Yes, it was a horrific throw that sealed the win for the NY Giants. But I've lived in Wisconsin for about 10 years, and every Packer fan I know will always find a way to cover up Favre's mistakes. In the P.J.'s, my blend tape plays, bullets are strays

Exactly what I was thinking, aren't all Packer fans in love with him? I hope they know what their doing over there. If they try to bench favre I have a feeling he would end up somewhere else pretty quickly. He might play another 4 or 5 seasons now that he knows he can still do it.I'm very suprised Packer fans are still upset with Favre over that interception.

A still shot looked at from the comfort of my lazy boy looks different than a game-time play in an OT game in the playoffs.
