Re: Packer Fans - quit whining about injuries!

Green is out for the year with a torn thigh tendon. I think he has played his last game as a packer!

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

Since Mike Mckenzie was traded at the beginning of LAST SEASON to the Saints...I think it Harris.

I've already heard a lot of Packer fans saying that it would have been a different game without all their injuries...what a pile of crap. Every team has injuries! And besides, The Vikes basically shut down Ahman Green before he went down in the fourth. Also, why would the Packers come into the game with only 4 wide receivers? You gotta do something during the bye week and try to land another receiver. I just feel that using injuries as an excuse is crap in the NFL. The Vikes have had their share of injuries this season, along with every other team. Seems like most teams have a key player out for the season.

    GO VIKES!

Oh, and what was up with that 4th down fumble by Culpepper? Why were the announcers saying that we couldn't advance the football because it was fumbled? That's not a rule...the Packers did it on that kickoff return. Do I not know a rule??
Any player can recover a fumble and advance it anytime except on 4th down.
That is not correct. I know that there are plenty of other times that fumbles cannot be forwarded:
    Here it is:
    1. The distinction between a fumble and a muff should be kept in mind in considering rules about fumbles. A fumble is the loss of player possession of the ball. A muff is the touching of a loose ball by a player in an unsuccessful attempt to obtain possession.
    2. A fumble may be advanced by any player on either team regardless of whether recovered before or after ball hits the ground.
    3. A fumble that goes forward and out of bounds will return to the fumbling team at the spot of the fumble unless the ball goes out of bounds in the opponent’s end zone. In this case, it is a touchback.
    4. On a play from scrimmage, if an offensive player fumbles anywhere on the field during fourth down, only the fumbling player is permitted to recover and/or advance the ball. If any player fumbles after the two-minute warning in a half, only the fumbling player is permitted to recover and/or advance the ball. If recovered by any other offensive player, the ball is dead at the spot of the fumble unless it is recovered behind the spot of the fumble. In that case, the ball is dead at the spot of recovery. Any defensive player may recover and/or advance any fumble at any time.
    5. A muffed hand-to-hand snap from center is treated as a fumble.

I knew I had seen it before, it must have been inside the two-minute warning in a half. But now we all know, and we are better for it.

    Green's out for the season.

I don't think you ever use injuries as an excuse for a game, but they do impact your season. We had those injuries and if Sherman had a set of balls, we could have won just as easily as we lost.

However, these injuries will catch up to us by the end of the season. That's inevitable. But, you still go out and play the game. Last I checked, no one has forfeited a game in the last 50 years.
Have you ever seen a race of turtles, and they all go the wrong way instead of towards the finish line?

    Welcome to the NFC North.

bingo, you hit it on the nail Los

I NEVER use injuries as an excuse, but my GOD, the Pack have been hit hard with the injury bug this year, it's ridiculous. Every week someone goes down

Walker is done for the year, Ferguson is going to miss AT LEAST a month with a knee sprain, Najeh is done for the year, Green is done for the year, Diggs is gonna miss 6-8 weeks, Flannigan is hurt. Nick Collins got hurt in yesterday's game but I don't know his status......with our luck, it's probably not good

oh yeah, our rookie WR Terrence Murphy is also done for the year with a spinal injury. I may have missed more

coming into the season I didn't expect a whole lot from the Pack, but I did expect them to maybe win 8 games, now I don't even know if they will win more than 5

Sherman is a POS! Always will be. When the game was tied 20-20 with 24 seconds left, the Vikes kept trying to win it. If it was the other way around you could bet your butt that Sherman would have had Favre "kneel" and just go into OT "hoping" to win the coin toss

sherman is not a POS as you say buddy...hes a good coach stuck with crap 4 talent and a pretty good quarterback. We arent going to get anybody better after the season than sherman and i dont think we will. the one call i didnt like last game was not going for it when we were down by 2 on 4th down. if we get it we can win, and if we dont, well not much skin off my back.

    i want sterling sharpe back
