I could only hope and pray that the Packers don't make the playoffs for another 30 years straight.

    Granted.

22 years of crap football could never happen to the Vikes anyway!

What team are you referring to?
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

I was referring to the entire Packer organization, by the way. I just mean those guys should have stopped playing for a while. I know that real fans are in it through thick and thin, and sadly, the same goes for Packer fans.

But maybe about 10 or so years into that streak, some of the players should have gone on strike or something.

i never realized the packers never made the postseason from 1972 to 1994! during that time the vikings flourished, making the postseason 13 times in those 22 years. sure the vikings may not have a super bowl, but at least they weren't losers for 22 straight years following vince lombardi's reign. then favre comes along and beats a second rate patriots team to make the cheesedicks happy again. while the vikings had to face teams like the dolphins, who just came off a 17-0 season, the steelers, who had a team full of hall of famers, and the raiders, who were coached by the nfl's all time winningist coach in john madden. the only good super bowl team green bay played was denver, and they lost!

i just had to make a rant out of this
I only have 2 things to say about that.
Prior to this era ,when the Pack was a dominant force and the Vikings weren't very good; the Vikings couldn't seem to beat anyone else. But they seemed to find a way to beat the Packers. I've always loved that fact.
Through out the years the Vikings have had lousy teams but have always been exciting. You know, winning against good teams but unfortunately losing to horrendous teams.
The second thing I would say is not to make excuses for why the Vikings lost their superbowls.
They were over acheivers to get to most of them. But they should have won against Pittsburgh. I think it was Sammy White who dropped a pass in the end zone that would have been a TD. That drop turned into a 14 point swing when Pittsburgh went down and scored. We should have won that game.
The two other superbowls we should have won, we didn't make it past the NFC championship game.
Darren Nelson ,who was great, dropped a ball against the Redskins in the end zone in what would have been a great come back game.I forget the year. But it was in Washington and they dominated the first half. The Vikings were a better team and should have won. Washington went on to crush Denver in a one sided superbowl victory that year.
And of coarse there is the infamous loss to Atlanta after dominating them in the first half and going completely conservative in the second half.
O.K. so that's more than two comments! But the point is,we had our chances and we will have them again.
Screw the packers. I'm riding this purple train until they plant me.

They refer to it as the 30 year drought because it was 28 years (30 years rounded off) between suberbowl appearances, with only 3 other playoff appearances during that time.

In 1972, they lost in the 1st playoff game.

In 1982 they won the 1st game, but lost the next one. Incidently that was a strike year when the scabs played & just about everyone went to the playoffs that year. GB record that year was 5-3-1, so take that with a grain of salt.

In 1994 they won the wildcard game, but lost the next one.

Besides, 30 between superbowl appearances sounds better than 22 years between playoff games, But I'd bring up both.

Oh hell, I forgot the game against the cowboys when the refs put it to us. But I guess that would be making excuses.
By the way. I saw the refs have new uniforms this year. I hope they come with a complimentary set of eyeglasses.
