    Just wondering.....

Wow reading the above two posts really proves
the point about cheeseheads and inbreeding is true.
This IS a Viking fan site not sure what you expect to
find. You two do sound like a nice couple though,
    just a little lost.

    Just wondering.....

I will say one thing for packmanxxxi and superior230bartime the statements they make at least come out in intelligent language. As for the words themselves let me quote another professional wrestler "I't doesn't matter what you think!" Sorry but that is just the way it is. This is a VIKING fan site. If you think we are going to sit in here and bash our team when they are maiking improvements you are sadly mistaken. This is the nature of being a FAN. Every fan of every team (yes even the Bengals) think before the season starts that this is the year. That's just the way it is. I have a feeling that if I went to a Packer site the lack of moves made due to salary cap reasons would be met with something along the lines of "We are set at every position and are making a run this year" and well you should as that is what FANS do.

On an unrelated note packmanxxxi on the lakes thing. I have lived here most of my life and with all the MN license plates I have seen none of them say "Land of 10,000 lakes which is more then WI" It is simply "Land of 10,000 lakes" From what I have read this is true as there are actually more then that. Many of them are smaller lakes but the do exist. But when you get right down to it the phrase is just a tourism/state pride type of thing and quite honestly has not one bit of anything to do with football.
The truth? You can t handle the truth!!

superior - or to everyone else inferior, your post is why everyone hates the packers. And get on your own site read all abou tthe Viqueens. Who spews hate more than your sites. And Favre is not the greatest, get real. Other than packer, I'm sorry fudgepackers no says he is hte greatest. Especially when there are names out there like Johnny U and Joe Montana. So get a grip on reality.
Yes the Vikings haven't been to the playoffs in a while but the playoffs aren't the goal except to some shotr sighted packer fans. The goal is the super bowl, and the Vikings are getting better every year. They have a great salary cap situation and will only get better the next few years. The fudgepackers on the other hand have peaked and will be REBUILDING after this year. And they may make the playoffs but you will be disappointed again when they lose. Farve will probably throw one of those horrible jump ball passes to end you rseason and rip your heart out. TO BAD!!
By the way Packman your post sucked just like you and your post needed some grammatical corrections. Lets keep up the good teacher image!!!

pithitic..... Is this Viking for "All our players are the best in the world and we refuse to admit that we haven't made the playoffs in years and that the Packers have the best QB ever and that our reciever is a greedy bastard holding us back with a QB who cant hang on to the ball and we have a FA signing who is amazing even though is is very overrated but since we are Viking fans we cant see that" or were you trying to spell "pathetic"?
Try using punctuation next time. That will give you some credibility when making fun of somebody else's spelling or grammar.

Sure they do, you just keep on telling yourself that  ...just think, Favre only needs another 16,000 yards and 74 touchdowns to be in the same league as the best QB ever.

Ugh, I'll try and look at this objectively.

To pacmanxxxi and barfly, Antoine Winfield is not the best corner in the NFC. The people that claim this are of course incorrect. He is however one of the top 10 corners in the league, which even you can understand, would make us happy.

Please don't compare him to Carroll, who is an untested, unproven 2nd round talent to a cornerback who has been very solid for the Bills for years.

The reason we bash him is because he was a reach, but I guess only time will tell right? We also are always happy to see your best corner decide he doesn't want to play for yor team anymore. Right now you have a nickel corner in Al Harris, and two decent rookies (that's right, ROOKIE corners). What are you so optimistic about?

As for Hovan, you won't find anyone defending his performance last year, the reason we did last offseason was because he had a good season in 2002.

The reason we ddn't sign Ogunleye or Kearse is because the vikings don't conduct their franchise into salary cap situation that the Packers were in this year. Sure we could have given Kearse his 6 year 66million like he got from the eagles, Or traded our 1st and 3rd draft picks in addition to a big contract to get OG, but were not stupid. The risk there was not worth taking. We'll leave the bad decisions on DEs to the Packers, as you have shown before how profitable is is to dole out cash to get superstars like Joe Johnson or Jamal Reynolds.

Robinson is not a superstar and on any other team I would question his ability to produce. But on this team with Moss opposite, and Culpepper throwing with our running game, he will be open alot. On the other hand with your yawn-worthy receiving corps, I can see how you would be skeptical

Finally, the only thing worse than having annoying Packer fans drop in for a post declaring Farve god and the running away before they defend it is Packer fans who complain about how we portray the vikings/packers on this site. Did it ever occur to you that this is a Vikings fan site, and that just maybe we are excited about our team and even, oh I don't know, a little biased. Take of you cheese coloured glasses and look in the mirror. If you don't like hearinf people talk about how good the vikings are and how bad the Packers are, maybe you should check what site your posting on.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

The fans here need to rip on Wisconsin and its fans as they have a very hard time justifying their negative statements about the Pack. It is much easier to call all Wisconsinites fan, ugly, *** (OMG), etc. rather than have to do a bit of reasearch and risk realizing that their newly prized Winfield is no better than a good corner, of which there were several this year.
What we realize about Winfield is that while he may not catch the ball himself very often, he doesn't let the receiver catch the ball either. He is known as a very good cover corner, but he doesn't have the hands to make the interception. The Vikings have two safeties that have a habit of being in the right place at the right time, so we're not worried about the INTs. What we haven't had in a very long time is a corner that can keep a top receiver out of the game. That's what Winfield has been in the past according to what I've read on ESPN, and other sports sites. That's why the Viking fans are excited about this guy.

The one thing that should be noticed is that those Packer fans who come here more often than just one or two quick posts never, ever rip on Minnesotain the manner that WI is treated here. Is it because Minnesota doesn't have anything to be ripped on?? Hardly.... they elected a professional wrestler as govenor for christs sake. They claim to have so many lakes when in fact WI has over 3000 more. etc etc etc
If you are trying to give the impression that Packer fans don't make fun of the state of Minnesota and/or Vikings fans, then you are sadly deluded. It's of no surprise to me that the packer fans the frequent this site do not launch full-on attacks against the denizens of this site. If you go to a teams fan site as a fan of another team, and you want be welcome there for an extended period of time, you don't go in firing insults. that's just common sense.

The simple fact is that it is a power struggle. Its the same reason a few of my fifth graders call people "faggots" while others just laugh and walk away. Those students with the power problem who just need attention and choose to pick on others and pick on their heritage, race, or anything else exist everywhere. They don't know how to have an intelligent conversation. They need people to look at them because they can't do anything else right. The funny part is that they almost always turn out to be Viking fans. (Ok, that was a cheap shot...lol)
See, you yourself couldn't resist launching an insult, and calling attention to yourself. However, it's not about any socio-psychological deficiencies. It's a sports rivalry. Packer fans make fun of Viking fans. Viking fans make fun of packer fans. Bears fans make fun of both groups, and in turn are made fun of by both groups. Nobody cares about the Lions. That's just how being a fan in the NFL, and especially the NFC North, works.

alright... I was going to be angry for a minute and let them know exactly what I thought... but Itallian and Josdin made fabulous points. Seriously it wouldn't be a great rivalry if we LIKED your team!
