Interesting Packer Developments

Well, thought I'd keep you guys posted.

Some interesting things...makes you go hmmmm.

Ted Thompson released a couple guys today: Mike Wahle (expected) and Grey Rugemer (C).

We also appear to be allowing Marco Rivera to test free agency.

We also only placed a transition tag on Franks. Makes a trade possible, but not for much. A team can sign him to 2 mil a year and take him for nothing.

We also low-balled all our RFAs, including Najeh Davenport, both backup QB's (Nall and O'Sullivan), Kampman (DE), and Kevin Barry, our U-71 Bacon extra guard in running situations.

They guys we signed? Antonio Chatman and R-Kal Truluck.

Couple things this seems to signify:

1) Favre probably coming back.

2) Packers may be entering rebuild mode instead of revamp mode. Our new GM likes to build through the draft, and this may be a step to get some cap room and picks if Favre comes back.

I think you are going to see some interesting trade offers from the Packers between now and the draft. Depending on Favre, you might see some big names offered for high picks, such as Ahman Green, Darren Sharper, and KGB.

The only person that is going to get you a high pick out of the three you listed is Akman! Sharper is starting to lose it IMO and KGB didn't play all that well last year except for against the Bears. When did they release Wahle, IMO that was a big mistake, that guy is good (even though it kills me to admit that!!)

that and I don't think he's what we need... Daunte is just getting over his fumblitis... we don't need a running back with the disease!!

Yeah, he would probably re-spread the disease back to daunte and he would probably carry over the dreaded INT virus too!! Yuck!!

Hey Los, what makes you so sure farve is coming back. From what i hear recently, its more of a chance that farve will be retiring than coming back since hes losing some of his o-line. ANd remember the pack didnt give up many sacks last year so he could be taking a beating this year. That could change his mind to not come back.
