And the rest of us said he'd get off to a great start and hit a slump the second half of the season.

Might be a bit early to declare yourself correct, but here's to hoping we were wrong.
gonna have to be one hell of a slump.
So, if we lose in the Divisional round of the playoffs, you'll still declare yourself right about Favre?

Granted, you're right, it would have to be one hell of a slump... but I don't see us being one-and-out in the playoffs much of an improvement... actually, it wouldn't be one at all.

I will reserve my judgment till then.

    Great article:

"So last week the media performed a full rectal examination of Brett Favre's emotions, and no one — that I saw — took a peek into the empty cranium that upon being given control of the Packers franchise in 2005 decided its first order business was to develop the Brett Favre Relocation Plan."

Would Favre survive in GB, last year and this year?
He would be on IR right now with that line.
He has to be sending condolence cards to Rodgers on a weekly basis.

He tired of the Favre offseason drama, tired of catering to Favre's ego. What an idiot. Favre was right. A year after Favre led the Pack to 13-3 and the NFC Championship Game, Green Bay finished 6-10 and out of the playoffs. This year it appears the supporting cast Thompson gave Rodgers is inadequate. The offensive line can't protect Rodgers and the defense looks weak against top competition.
To me, Ted has been concerned with defense more than offense.
    Skimped a bit!

Do you really think any of our other QB's would bring us there?
    I personally don't.
It also will depend on the game we play.
If we playa tough team and lose a hard fought game, then I wouldn't say I'm wrong.
If Favre throws an awful game and we lose because of him, then perhaps.

Hell, I think a combination of Jackson and Gus Frerotte brought us there last year... so yes, I do believe we could still get there with our current QBs.

Our record might not be as good, but there's more than one guy on this team.

And no, being one-and-done in the playoffs is not improvement. It would be a failure.

So if Ptereson fumbles 3 times and Favre hits 17-20, 200+ a TD and no picks, its still somehow favres fault that we didn't win?

    Re: Favre trumps Thompson soundly

Same old tired QB arguement doesn't fit here.
I like Jason's controversial style. He fills in for Rome sometimes. He's controversial but knows his pooh.

Snow, one of his points was that Ted started to rebuild rather than provide Brett with a supporting cast.
Had they not drafted Rogers, they could have drafted someone who would help the team immediately, instead of sit on the bench for 4 years.
What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Wow ... I saw this on FoxSports yesterday and did not post it because I assumed it was already up.

Fairly well written piece by Whitlock. I tend to like his columns even though sometimes they are more to stir the pot than actually be accurate.

Hit this one right on the head.

Still comforting to actually see you put in words that you hope you are wrong ... I am pretty sure a few anti-Favre's out there would rather be right than win.
