Dom Capers keeps surprises coming

Dom Capers keeps surprises coming

In Sunday’s win at Chicago, Capers unveiled his “psycho” package, which was a version of his nickel defense that featured only one down lineman with five linebackers and five defensive backs. The Packers used it mostly on third downs to shut down the Bears’ passing game.

I absolutely love this package.

I love it so much, that wrote an 'article' about it right after the game.

Shameless plug coming.

Molder/Mike, thanks for the reads.....

From the first article....
A year after the Packers struggled with even the most basic base, nickel and dime defenses, they’re excelling with seemingly a new wrinkle every week.
Sure glad we have Leslie. He gives us new wrinkles every week as well. Course Wildwoman keeps insisting I am starting to age in front of her face cause of all the new "Wrinkles".....

From the PUKER Page

Secondly, it's very susceptible to a draw, or regular run play. When an offensive line can already get you 4 yards deep into the defense, the back doesn't have to do that much. Of course, this is a pass rushing formation, so this is one con that you usually don't have to worry about.
Lets hope that the next time we meet, we will be putting some "Secondly" on your ass..... :P
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

this year should be great now that he has a better safety to replace the useless, slow Bigby.

A third round safety will surely make this defense great.

I love Burnett and I hope he beats out Bigby to start the season (He'll do it somewhere during the season, regardless), but I doubt that he's going to be the difference maker that makes this defense great.

Although, if Neal and Burnett both play at a high level in their first year, it will make quite an impact...

I have a feeling that Burnett is this year's Greg Jennings. Someone who comes out of nowhere to impress right from the start.
