I can't see any way the Pack compete for the North or even a playoff spot. They just aren't improving while others are. Taking Rodgers was a pretty good move for the future, but trying to live up to Favre would be tough on any young QB. They needed defense worse than a future QB. If Favre retires after this season, Rodgers may still not be ready. SWEET.

how did that guy doing following Marino, or the guy that followed Elway? Following a great QB has a history of negativity

I'd like Farve to stay. I enjoy watching him force the ball. Meanwhile his fans will keep the vision in their heads that he's still young, and they will never call for a change. Let's call it the Emmitt-spiral.

    Re: Brett Favre is TPT

Even though I agree that the Packers aren't looking too good on the D...should have drafted better in the defensive department after grapping Rodgers, I STILL believe that my boys have a chance at winning the North. Why? The same reason why the Vikings BEAT my boys this past playoff season. Sure, things were certainly pointing the Packers' way after sweeping the Vikings during the regular season, however, at the end of the day, the lowly Vikings got W! Don't get me wrong, the Vikings are looking good so far this off-season (with all the good signings/trades and draft choices), however, don't let what looks good on paper fool ya. Just take a look at the NBA's Laker team of last season: Head coach Jackson, Shaq, Kobe, Maloe, Payton, Fox and a host of sufficient backsups. When the Lakers got Payton and Malone to play with the already good Shaq/Kobe Lakers, the NBA world just KNEW the Lakers were going all the way. How could they not, right? They looked SO good on paper (a bunch of future HOLs). In the end, however, the Lakers and all of their starpower lost to this little Eastern Conf., little fame team that goes by the name of Pistons. I don't think anyone in the NBA EVER thought the Pistons would even get to the Finals, but they did. Folks I say this just to say don't judge a book by its cover, even though in this case, the book COULD probably be summarized by just looking at the cover.
