Re: Brett Farve.. not the smartest man alive

My god, did u guys see him on Sportscenter..."he's giving it all for his team this year"....how is THAT news??? Isn't that what your supposed to do anyways....the media tries SO OVERLY HARD to make this guy look like a perfect little prince! It pisses me off, cuz I just want the muthafudger to get treated like the rest of NFL players by the media!!

Brett Favre WAS a top quarterback. Now he just looks like one of those guys that tries to hold on to the glory past their prime. WAAAAAAY past their prime. He is the Gary Anderson of quarterbacks.........
What s the difference between a Viking and Packer fan? One is not facing federal charges for viewing animal pornography and sexually assaulting animals at rural dairy farms.

Re: Brett Farve.. not the smartest man alive

What made me ill, was an article about how Brett is trying to be more of a "leader" this year.....if that was truly the case, then his cheesy butt should be in the minicamps going through drills with the rest of the players. Instead, he's being treated like a spoiled little princess by Sherman with not having to come in and practice. Seems to me he could use some reps throwing to his receivers, rather than the opposing Defense...LOL

There was another article talking about the offense having a horrible day in practice...right around the time Golden Boy came to pay a visit. He didn't practice, of course, but just hung around and jawed with the players and coaches. Real cute...great leadership there. Think there might be just a teensy bit of resentment by some of the other Packer players?

Really? How many titles did you grab the last 4 years? The only time you have embarassed us was in ONE playoff game. Other than that it was all you guys embarassing yourselves with mid-season chokes.

As for your comment that Favre plays worse every year...Wrong. His Yards per completion average was higher than the year before, he had 700 more total yards, a higher rating and 4 less interceptions. Last year was his best season since 2001.

    Favre is far from done

But we'll see what Pep can do to speed along his demise.

and then on the 2nd page it asks who which qb you would have despite the team, or something along those lines, and the answer = daunte culpepper.

He might want to get through this season before he worries about next season.

Well, let's see. 2 of the last 3 games that Green Bay won in Lambeau versus the Vikings were due to Official Errors (2002, 9 blown critical calls - admitted by the NFL. 2004, blown fumble recovery call). But, hey, whatever it takes to win, eh?

I don't believe that the embarrasment comment referred to the past, I believe it was a look ahead...and, let's face it, Green Bay isn't looking real good right now. There are Pop Warner teams with better talent on Defense.

As for Favre himself, I don't believe that he will be an embarrasment at all. The guy is still good....real good. In fact, he's probably still one of the top 10 QB's playing today. I believe he could play another 2-4 years before he slipped appreciably. The same can't be said of his team.

    You must remember that the reason we all take shots at Favre isn't because he's a bad QB (Too much evidence says otherwise), it's because of two primary reasons;

1: He's the QB of our most hated rival.
2: The media has their collective heads so far up his butt that when he opens his mouth you can see a reporter's head in there...fighting with Madden for space.

If Favre had taken the dump in the closet, the media probably would have remarked on how perfect the turd was, how it was completely lacking in odor, and how much it would be worth on EBay. If Favre had faked the moon, the media would have probably commented on how light hearted and fun-loving Favre is. If Favre walked off the field early, the media probably wouldn't have said a thing at all (Oh....wait. He DID, and they DIDN'T). No matter what Favre does, the media spins it like it was Christ himself doing it.

Personally, I respect Favre as a person and as a QB. If he were in purple, WE would be the one's waving his banner. He's not, so we don't.

However, that doesn't mean that I am not practically drooling in anticipation for the day when Udeze, Williams (x2), and James make him into a mud pie. I will be cackling with glee when they scrape him up off the field and put Nall (Who will be wetting himself in fear) in.

I can see why the Packer fans are clinging so desperately to the media image of Favre...it's all they have right now. Soon, they'll be right back talking like they did in the 70's and 80's. It will be nothing but, "Oh yeah? Well back when Favre was playing...", which hearkens from the previous, "Oh yeah? Well when Starr was playing..." days.

Anyway, take heart Packer fans...you're 3rd in the Division right now, and will be until 9-11 for sure (Unless Chicago beats Washington...then you'll be 4th).

Re: Brett Farve.. not the smartest man alive

No, actually, we're first in the division right now. Ever heard of having to beat the champ to be the champ? Like it or not, the playoff win was not the division championship. We won that. And until you guys do, we are still number one in the division.

You guys don't understand that everything you say about us having no chance this year is an EXACT repeat of what you have said the last 3 years. Super Bowl victory predictions were all over these boards last year and the year before. So why the hell am I supposed to go hide in a corner this year? It's the same formula every year with the Vikes.

Win 5 or so games to start off. Lose several straight. Win a couple. Lose some more, finish just above .500. Then you add a few guys in the off-season, get over-confident and the cycle repeats.
