Being biased, on a D-II level it would be Northwest Missouri vs. Pittsburg St. They have moved the the game from a home game to a game played at Arrowhead in KC for the last several years. On a national level I would vote for Army/Navy. The intra-state rivalries are good and get more attention, but I think this has more passion.

Re: Your Favorite College Football Rivalry

Michigan/Ohio State for family connections and the caliber of the programs historically.

As a Kansas grad, I can say the KU/Mizzou rivalry has as much hatred and some of the coolest history of all the rivalries.

The following is the history of it for you history buffs:
The football game is the second longest consectutive annual game behind Minnesota/Wisky by one year. After all those games, KU leads the series by 2 just games. What makes the rivalry really great is that its a true border war. Before the Civil War Misery was a slave state and Kansas was free. Ruffians from Misery came over and tried to fix the votes to make Kansas a slave state. The two states were at war with each other years before the start of the civil war. The name Jayhawk comes from the original Jayhawkers who were a group that fought the bastards from Misery. The height of it came when some ruffians from Misery led by Quantrill came into Lawrence, where KU is located, and burned down the entire city, murdered all of the women, and raped all of the sheep. John Brown and the Jayhawkers drove out the inbreds and eventually the good guys won the war. It should be noted that Misery is so stupid that they fought for the wrong side but never actually had any slaves. (If you want to know how stupid Miserians are, just think Wisconsin)

Misery fans have thrown batteries and glass bottles at the KU band. Many coaches from each school have refused to ever spend one dime- gas, food, hotel etc... in the other state. One of my friends tackled the Misery mascott at a football game on the field and was not even kicked out of the game, just escorted off the field.

I know its not the most prominent rivalry in college sports but its as good as it gets.
