Would anyone else embrace Phillip Rivers as our next QB?

I don't know about other Vikes fans, but I wouldn't mind Phillip Rivers suiting up in Purple and Gold. What are your thoughts on this?

no, i never liked the guy, and probably never will. but i don't have a reason, just that he was hyped up higher than roethlisberger and isn't nearly as good (thats right, I called Roethlisberge being good while he was in college).

You are retarted if you dont think he was good in college. He had way more upside coming out than even Eli. He owned up the ACC with basically no talent around him at NC State. Get your facts straight before dissing the one and only Philip Rivers.

You can't just not like someone. He is a good guy too. I would take rivers in a heartbeat.

I have no reason not to cheer for the guy if he was a viking. He hasn't really played so it is hard to tell if he is good or not. keep in mind though he is like halfway through a pretty big contract, and his cap number gets bigger and bigger.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

I would take him. I'd be pretty scared about him not playing for 2 years and then trying to come in here and start, but I would embrace him.

That's the only problem I would have with him too. He is pretty expensive for someone who is unproven in the NFL but if you think about it it would be a lot like getting a rookie QB for the team. He has only played in one NFL game in his career..

I think he had a right to be more hyped than Roethlisberger. He played just as good (if not better) teams at NC State as Roethlisberger played at Miami of Ohio. The guy is the NCAA's second all-time leading passer for crying out loud! (13,484 yards)

THANK YOU. Finally someone who agrees. Only talent he had around him wsa Jerricho Cotchery (Jets WR) and TA McClendon (NFL Europe nobody). The defense really emerged the year after he had left.
