Re: Would anyone besides me love the pickup of SS Mike Doss from Indy???

I'll hedge my view of the meaning of the visit by looking at it in two ways as regards drafting a safety (Landry) at 7....

    1. If Doss is signed, the Vikings will have 5 safeties on the roster, may cut D.Smith over his behavioral problem, and hope that Tank Williams or Doss recover fully from their injuries.
Further, drafting Laron Landry at 7 is out of the picture.

    2. If he is not signed, it may imply the Vikings weren't comfortable with his recovery, and it may lead to the Vikings looking at Laron Landry in the draft because they are concerned with Tank Williams recovery and D.Smith's performance or behavior issues.
When we stop to think about it, most folks behavior isn't perplexing after all !

Not really interested...I would rather draft Landry!
That being said, I still want us to trade up or trade down and take a WR with our first pick...whether it be Calvin after trading up...or Bowe/Meachem after trading down.
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

I like Doss but I don't think that's a glaring need righ now.
I know depth is important but I think we have that there.
people think we have a need there because of the passing defense.
Those are people that didn't watch the Vikings game last year.
It was more of the style of defense and the LBers playing so close to the line all the time.

I agree with Cajun regarding getting a good WR in he draft.
However, I still wouldn't mind Gaines Adams if he were available at 7.

Other then the thing at the beginning of the season did Smith have any problems? I don't think so, but Im not completely sure, so if you have some stuff, fill me in. But I will base this post on the fact that I think he didn't. Other then the
beginning thing Smith only brought attitude to the defense, Childress isn't apposed to attitude on the field. It is good to have someone like that on your team, keeps a good attitude on your team, which keeps everyone fresher and makes them play harder. That was one of the good things about Smoot, he at least kept other guys around him laughing and happy.

    Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

Uh oh! Bad News from KFFL.com!

    NFL | Doss changes agents
    Mon, 2 Apr 2007 20:04:20 -0700

Kevin Seifert, of the Star Tribune, reports free agent S Mike Doss (Colts) has switched agents to Drew Rosenhaus.
    ************************************************** *******************

With the return of Tank Williams, the emergence of Blue, and the departure of Tomlin, who was his ticket into the front door last year, Smith has no protection, so his behavior and performance deficiencies may eventually lead to his release.

What decent name has come in for a visit lately?
Is Peyton Manning or Tom Brady visiting?
They're under contract, so that can't be it.
    Hmm.
    I wonder who he means?
