The Window for Calvin Johnson has been opened
Detroit Trade? Lions shopping second pick?
<Mar. 17> According to the Denver Post, the Lions have let it be known their No. 2 overall draft pick is up for trade. In fact, the Lions even held talks with the Broncos in the past month, but the asking price -- multiple draft picks that included Denver's No. 21 selection -- was considered far too high by the Broncos.
With an average record of 4-12 the past six seasons, the Lions are contemplating whether they can get greater value by moving down in the draft for multiple players and picks in return.
What do y'all think?
Not sure why the Lions would trade within the Division, however, CJ is clearly potentially a franchise player!
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

As a matter of fact, I do know

i don't get that, if they are looking to trade down, they arn't looking for a 7th overall pick but 15+ picks
Rosie O'Donnell is a dude!

We'd have a better shot trading with Cleveland. Won't happen. I'm pretty resigned to the fact we won't be gettin CJ. Let him go to Tampa, just not Detroit. Better we take the BPA we can get at 7, or trade down for more options.

Hmmm, Is there any way we can get Calvin Johnson AND an extra pick?

All the kids my age pee their pants, it's the coolest.

Re: The Window for Calvin Johnson has been opened
I would love to have CJ with the Vikes, I would trade our 1st (7) our 3rd this year and our 4th next year to get him.
But I don't think the Lion's would trade with us and the second overall pick comes with a high price tag, bonuses and guaranteed money.
No player is a sure thing I have seen to many picks that have been called that and the player turns out to be a bust, I am not saying that Calvin will be a bust but there is always a risk and it happens at every position.
But I would make the trade.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

If the Vikes opted to trade it would be one of the better moves to better the franchise, but you know as well as I do that it will NOT happen because of the passive Childress.

Making any trade up or down is a huge chance.
You never know if it's going to be huge, or a big waste.

I watched the Vikings hand the Cowboys a few championships over a guy they thought was talented enough to fix all our problems, not again. I don't call it passive I call it smart.
I have a feeling you put a guy in a dysfunctional situation you aren't going to be happy with the results. Our problems are bigger then one player. I say the more draft picks the better. If you promise to be smarter, I will promise to be nicer.
