Will Vikings select another wide receiver?
Vikings' search has a catch

For the second time in three years, Vikings coaches, scouts and front office executives traveled to Indianapolis and the annual NFL scouting combine with wide receiver as their most glaring need.
A strong class of receivers could produce as many as six first-round picks. And that has some draft analysts guessing that the Vikings -- for the second time in three years -- will select a receiver seventh overall.
That, according to NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock, would be an unwise decision.....

I read that article this morning.
I agree 100% with it.

Re: Will Vikings select another wide receiver?
I agree with this also. We should trade down with a team that is looking to grab Quinn before Houston does, and pick up Bowe or Jarret in the middle or late first round. That is my take. I dont think Ginn will be that great of a receiver in the NFL.
Re: Will Vikings select another wide receiver?
I don't think anything like a trade, up or down, will happen...
Everyone is seeming to forget that Childress himself has stated, he doesn't believe in taking WR's in the first round.....And BC doesn't seem like the type of guy who likes to change his ways to easily to me.
I personaly think, that Childress gives his new DC coach Frazier a gift with the first pick at #7....
Gaines Adams, DE.
out of Clemson
Re: Will Vikings select another wide receiver?
That was a refreshing article.
Every time i see a mock draft with us pulling Ginn or Jarrett at number 7, i want to vomit.
CJ is the only WR that is worthy of a top 10 to 12 pick.
Re: Will Vikings select another wide receiver?
Good article.
I am on board with it too.
It all comes down to who is available.
I still think Childress will make an attempt at a trade every round that CJ is available.
But he won't break the bank on him, which is smart.
I am still a fan of Udeze, but man... if we got Adams at number 7 I would be ecstatic. It would probably mean we would trade Udeze or Scott, but Adams and James as bookends would be one hell of a line.

Scott is a FA of some sort, were they to draft a DE, I doubt they would retain him.

Yup Scott is a restricted free agent so if the Vikes indeed end up drafting Adames or Anderson, Scott most likely won't be tendered an offer.
Re: Will Vikings select another wide receiver?
I dont see the Vikings going after another WR is the draft for the second straight year...its almost Lioness to do that.

LMAO Lioness (noun, adj.) Stupidly taking one overrated receiver after the next in the first round. 2. Not learning from past mistakes.
