Re: Will the Vikings draft LaRon Landry?
I'd love to see Landry as a vike, but it depends if we are drafting for the future or now.
In were drafting for the future that would be fine, but right now we have solid safties with Sharper, Smith, and Blue.

What's wrong with Jason Carter? All I heard throughout the season was from people screaming that we should start JC. Now that FA has started & the draft is around the corner, he is forgotten by his fans & not even mentioned.I wouldn't mind him.
In the 2nd round though. We need a WR boys.
Sure he is unproven, but he is our best option. We also need more than 1 WR though. Someone we can at least count on besides a guy who hasn't played a down yet.

Re: Will the Vikings draft LaRon Landry?
Funny, I was thinking exactly the same thing this morning.
Tomlin liked Blue, so do I...but, from everything I read and hear, Landry is a future multi pro-bowler.
Exceptional safety play is critical in the Cover 2; I would not rule it out.
Think it depends on whether or not they pick up Kevin Curtis.
Would certainly like to see another agressive DB on the Vikes though.
Although, if Gaines Adams drops, you gotta take him first.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

Re: Will the Vikings draft LaRon Landry?
I think we need more than j.carter.
we better do something cause right now our recievers nor our quarterbacks could start on a cfl team.

Re: Will the Vikings draft LaRon Landry?
I'll only consider Laron Landry if Calvin Johnson is off the board, then I'd trade down, hopefully get another 2nd rounder, and in the second round, take the best OT and WR available.

Re: Will the Vikings draft LaRon Landry?
I really hope we get Landry at 7.Presuming CJ and Gaines are both gone, i'd be the best move.(besides trading down)
Sharper IMO hurt us last year, and will continue to this year.He just dosnt have the speed needed for S anymore.Hes a ballhawk and very smart player. However we need to look to the future at that position.Tank is not the answer.(Atleast not yet) Hes been plaqued with serious injury the past couple seasons.Blue hasnt shown me anything more then hes an electrifying hitter. To me I always saw him as a potential LB canidate. The verdict is still out on him.
Landry is an immediate impact player. He should attend his fair share of pro bowls for years to come.(Knock on wood)
Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

Re: Will the Vikings draft LaRon Landry?
I think we need to focus on something other then defense for a change. For offense wins games too you know. We are not going to get by with TJ and the mediocre receiving core we have right now. Best move I know you probably will hate this but draft Brady Quinn in the first round. In the 2nd round draft a Receiver and possibly trade the 3rd round pick for Darrel Jackson.

Re: Will the Vikings draft LaRon Landry?
Landry would be AWESOME in purple and gold...BUT remember the last time a team took a safety at #7 (Raiders last season) and all the criticism that they took for doing so.
That being said, Landry could be our nickel back IMMEDIATELY and eventually move into the starter's job, if not THIS season, probably NEXT.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

i think a wr in the 2nd is what we will see. That being said, you know every year the top 5-6 guys are always touted as "Multi year probowlers" there are no guarantees boys, and to take a guy this high at a position we can address next year doesn't seem like the best idea. Rather see them pass and trade than do this. Still feel Quinn will be available here and we will have the option to take him or trade to Texas or Miami.
