Re: Wide Reciever Being Connected To Vikings

How about this one.

Sinorice Moss
Troy Williamson
Nate Burleson
Jermaine Wiggins
Marcus Robinson
Jermaine Wiggins

and

DeAngelo Williams. He is a great runner, and good reciever out of the backfield, not to mention hes a whole lot cheaper than Edge.

I'd love Williams and will pray he falls to us at 17, but would be perfectly happy with Maroney also. I would take either 2 of them before breaking the bank for Edge. Break the bank for an O-lineman like Hutch or Bentley and for a LB like Witherspoon or Peterson, but not for a RB, when we can get a really good one at 17 for much much cheaper.

Yep,hutchinson and witherspoon and save the money that you would spend on edge and go with a draft pick and hutchinson will help pave the way for that rookie and mewelde and the rest. If birk and fonoti and hutcinson......shivers....

We could pull off the empty backfield, no tackle formation with that one. Seriously though I would rather keep Burleson than get Givens.

Heck, I wouldn't mind 2 Wiggins..ez..ez

Yes, I want to see what Burley is capable of with a healthy season in the WCO, with new coaches and all that YAC.

Cap room makes Vikings alluring

Team on Patriots wide receiver Givens' list

BY DON SEEHOLZER
Pioneer Press

The Vikings have bigger free-agent needs than wide receiver, but they are on a short list of possible teams for New England's David Givens.

"I've drafted a list of six or seven teams that have a lot of cap room," Givens' agent, Brad Blank, said Tuesday. "Minnesota's one of them. If there's not a new collective bargaining agreement, I'll be calling them."

An extension of the collective bargaining agreement, which NFL owners are meeting in Dallas to vote on, could greatly increase the number of teams with money to spend.

Either way, there should be a market for Givens, 25, who in four seasons has gone from a seventh-round draft choice to No. 2 receiver and caught a career-high 59 passes for 738 yards and two touchdowns last season.
Blank said he has had no contact with the Vikings and has no idea if they are interested.

"No matter how much money is on the table, he'll visit a place and get a feel for the team, the coaching staff and the overall situation," Blank said. "If he likes it somewhere, he might not make it to the third trip, but there won't be a deal done beforehand."".
