    Re: Why not Brian Brohm?

I wouldn't be opposed to drafting him.
I think he is the best talent.
Offseason hype and combine/pro day stats are what have catapulted Matt Ryan to the #1 spot.
I doubt he'd drop that far, but who would have guessed that Lienart and Cutler would have dropped so far a couple of years ago?

I see three teams that might use a first round pick (4 really but none warrant a #1 pick) before the Vikes.

With only Matt Ryan ahead of him on most value boards, I find it pretty hard to imagine how he would slip to us at 17.

I for one would rather they take one of the LT's at 17 instead of a QB if a solution isn't there at DE for us.
Get a guy like Flacco, Henne, Ainge, O'Connell etc in a later round.
I agree! I would love to get Henne in the 3rd.

If Brohm was at 17 and the Vikes passed on him?
Uhg, the DE better have 20 some sacks if T-Jack doesn't become a super star.
Again, not sure he gets to 17.
Truth be told he should have came out last year, he probably would have made more money.

I'm leaning more and more towards a OT in the first round anyways.
I don't care how good our QB is, as we saw with Brady in the SB, if he is on his jiggly butt all game he isn't gonna win us any games.
But Mar the Triangle of Doom has already brought in guys like Cook and company.
We're set on our starting line, not to mention we could just draft a OL in the second round since that's where we find most our diamonds.

But I suppose if I really wanted to be mean, the Triangle of Doom hasn't made a wrong decision yet so I think we're pretty much set at every single position.
I think we should just let our picks go and build on what we have. ;D

Thought so, but some comments led me to believe otherwise...Thanks for the clarification.

    Re: Why not Brian Brohm?

Personally, I think Brohm is going to be a bust. No stats or anything to back me up... just a hunch.

Then again (referring to my NCAA bracket) my hunches are often wrong...

    Re: Why not Brian Brohm?

There is a good chance that J. Long, Clady, Williams, and Otah are all gone by our pick.
Do we reach for a Cherilus or Baker?

Likewise, C. Long, Gholston, Harvey, and Merling could all be gone by our pick.
Do we reach for a Campbell or a Groves (not a LDE anyway)?

Therefore the BPA at 17 very well may be Brian Brohm, a DB, or a RB.
If that is the case, I would much rather have Brian Brohm than another young corner or a RB.
I also don't think any receivers are worth taking there either.

Rock out with your cock out!!!

    Re: Why not Brian Brohm?

Waiting till the third to draft a QB is setting us up for big time failure in the future. You can agrue we have bigger needs than QB, but saying Brohm is not worthy of our attention is a bit overboard. If he falls for us, we have to take him.

He is exactly what we hope TJ will be for us at the QB position.
