Who is your late round gem?
Personally I think the Vikings should take a good look at Michigan State WR Matt Trannon in the 6th or 7th round.
Matt Trannon
Height:
6'6"
Weight: 216 lbs
40 Time:
4.57
2006 Stats
9 Games, 44 Receptions, 518 yds, 3 TD
Thanks to PPE for the awesome Sig.

Re: Who is your late round gem?
I have put down on another thread about my late round steals and i really really really like Dallas "the touchdown maker" Baker from Florida.
I don't have his stats but he is a red zone scoring machine with great hands and nice size.
I would love the vikes to pick him up.
My other late round gem would be Jacoby Jones but everyone knows about him and could be scooped up a lot sooner then the later rounds because of his return ability.
I would love the Baker pick though and i wish i could tell them cause they may not know about him lol."If you need two yards, I'll get you three.
If you need five yards, I'll get you three.

Re: Who is your late round gem?
There has been quite a few threads started about this.....I started one myself. Most people don't know many late round projection players, so it usually just gets lost. But hey, maybe this one will go

Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

unless you have someone that turns out to be a marques colston nobody thinks these guys are gonna be around in a couple of years.
meanwhile if you draft well you can find a gem but isn't it basically just luck.LET THAT WHICH DOES NOT MATTER, TRULY SLIDE

Actually many really good players have been selected in later rounds."davike" wrote:

It is luck to some extent.....they still put allot of scouting into their later round picks....they don't just randomly pick a guy in later rounds. They still pick players that they think will impact their franchise the most and no, they don't think they won't be around in a few years. So I don't think that a successful late round pick is pure luck. EVERY player that is selected in the draft is drafted to make some kind of impact on his team.

The 3rd maybe but after his great showing at the Senior Bowl he is on a lot of teams that need a dynamic WRs radar.
I would be all for the vikes getting him in the 4th so i hope he does last that long.
I also like Earl Everett as late LB depth and CB Travarous Bain, who has a cool name and i think for a small school player has a lot of tools and a desire to work hard and be a great player in the league.
He would be an excellent nickel guy."If you need two yards, I'll get you three.
