Re: When to draft a quarterback

    Great article.

Let me try and put a spin (both from a historical and current standpoint) related to the Vikings and the decisions that are being made by thier front office.
It is kindof interesting (Funny) and might shed some light on how they got in the position they are in today and what we might do if Quinn does fall to us........

Ziggy created the "Triangle of Authority" to make us a better team.
I think this is a good thing by the way.

They new they needed to draft a QB last year.

They didn't really get the Guy(s) they wanted.
We believe (conjecture) from info after the draft that they at least tried to get Cutler and maybe another.
When one/both of them were gone they jumped up and took TJ.
As I've posted before I think they settled for thier third option (TJ).

    Foley gets fired.
Not sure we actually know why but I assume it is because of some poor decisions on players.
He takes the fall because ultimately he had the final say.

Spielman is hired and is given basically the same say in personnel that Foley had.

The season doesn't go as planned.
    :'(

B-Chill says they are set with what they have.

It looks like Quinn or a Quality (depends on your opinion of him) FA could become available.

The triangle re-asses thier player personnel at the QB position.

This statement is IMHO quickly negated by 2 of the 3 in the triangle of authority and then by the 3rd (B-chill) in his press conferences at the combine.

B-chill spends a day with TJ on his way to the combine.
This in itself causes me to raise a couple of questions:
    1) Why did he do that.
2)When has a HC ever done that with a 2nd year QB?
I believe it is to re-assure (not shake the young kids confidence) TJ that he will still be in the running to start if we draft Quinn at number 7.

Again, all a spin on my part based on some facts and some conjecture.

I for one WAS against using the #7 on a QB and would rather have the take the BPA (should be one of the two DE's).
But now I am not sure.
