I just dont see it. the vikings have a lot of talent. they just need to add a couple pieces. and they dont need elite pieces either. Yes they probably wont make the playoffs but getting talent on the roster is the first step for the years after that. even with a couple pieces they can have a very respectable season.
The problem is that the talent they have is all coming up contractually over the next few years. And now with McNabb they just gave up 2 future draft picks which will limit the young talent they can bring in down the road.
You're joking right? a sixth round pick....

Your McNabb hate might just be as rediculous as Marty's Favre-hate.

However, at least at this point thus far he hasn't proved you wrong yet.
We could have waited for them to release him and it would have cost us nothing.

McNabb is no Brett. Please do not expect him to come in and repeat that scenario or you will be very disappointed.
Bring him in at the end of training camp to learn a new offense? This is why people shouldn't play Madden. You can't just sign a QB and put him out there. Football is a job. You have to learn the playbook and believe that each coach has his tendencies. A coach might like to run off tackle on 3rd and short, another might like to throw a screen. So you as a Qb has to know whats coming to best prepare for it.

The goal in football is to make the playoffs & win the SB, not finish with a respectable season.

In order to achieve that goal, the holes need to be plugged & they need to be plugged with players that are better now (FA/vets) or should/will be better (rookies) at the position that was vacated.

Anything shy of that is taking steps backwards.

I totally agree. Dont mistake us for a super bowl contender this year. However, and a couple youger recievers to develop chemisty, Ballard is seriously a HUGE pick for us this year. he will be great on our Dline very soon. And with a guy like jonathan Joseph sitting out there we need to grab his. hes young and a very nice tallent on the outside
