    Guess what?

The scouts try to take a serious look at every single player who has declared for the draft.

Why is everyone slamming this guy. He doesn't have all that much resource to sell you on his player. He posted a video of highlights and everyone jumps in and says 'no one is good because of highlights.'

He never said he's good because their is a you-tube video.

Seriously, I'm sick of everyone bashing highlight videos.
No one is saying that the highlight videos completely represent a player.
It's there so you have a rough visual understanding of how the player plays the game.
For example, you can check the video to see how much separation Nelson can get on a CB (also, whether those CBs are respectable or not).
You can check to see if he catches with his hands, if he has the ability to catch passes in the middle of the field, his ability to get off the line, his accelleration, his ability to break tackles, etc.
I don't know about you, but a highlight video is pretty effective for me when I also have access to the person's measurements, team roster, interviews and statistics.

Anyway, I'd only want jordy Nelson if we take him in the 5th round tops. He doesn't have that high of a ceiling, IMHO. a bit like Mike Hass

The whole reason I enjoy PPO so much is the VARIOUS opinions I read, thus allowing ME to form my own PERSONAL opinion.

I think everyone on this site comes up with great stuff...except for the personal bashing. "Can't we all just get along".

    Oh, and you're a moron, this guys sux...C'MON, it's a joke :-*

Re: We gotta take a serious look at this guy.

I kind of like the kid and had watched him play a couple of times this year (my wife is from Texas, so we watch a handful of Big 12 contests), but I doubt there is anyway he combine's himself up into the fist day. I do not think he has the speed to run a sub-4.45 40 at the combine and his body of work in college is tough to peg because of how inconsistent the Wildcats have been lately. HOWEVER ... his numbers are ridiculous. He was half of the team's passing offense and totaled 1,600+ yards receiving and 11 TDs while returning punts for 2 TDs and an average of 53 yards a PR. He defiitely has some potential and if his speed is better than most think come combine time he will climb.
He also was good against solid competition ... 12 catches, 116 yards, TD at Texas, 10-137-1 vs. Kansas, 12-176-3 at Ok. State, 8-94-1 vs. Mizzou and 15-165-1 at Fresno St. Those are some very impressive numbers. He will definitely climb if he impresses at the combine.

I don't see him as a second round guy.
Maybe mid to late 3 or 4 at best.
That is not an indictment against his skills, but we all know how the draft plays out.
Productive players who do not have the numbers (height, 40 time) slip

I like his cutting ability and he looks like he has good hands.
Who knows, maybe the play of Devin Hester and leon washington will raise his stock some

Re: We gotta take a serious look at this guy.

From a fans standpoint Video is just about the only true source on a football player, thats where the resume is. The video says alot and thats usually how i judge a football player. Not what he does at the combine, is he a football player or a track star?

Nelson almost had more catches in a seven game span then Troy Williamson had his whole college carear, plus he's more elusive, catches the football and can return punts. Something Troy Williamson can't do because he has no RB skills, hell he has no WR skills. Comparing the two because of video is rediculous.

This guy can catch, run and throw. He's the first prospect i have seen this year and probably somebody Childress is taking a look at. He fits the scheme, runs the routes and gets open. If he runs a 4.3 he might make it in the first round like troy did but it doesn't look like he runs one so 3rd maybe 4th round. Alot can happen between now and April.

Kudos to the poster, nice find and you may be on to something.
