...the Vikings waived wide receiver Justin Surrency and running back Arkee Whitlock on Thursday. The team can only carry 80 players on the roster going into training camp so the Vikings need to make room for their draft picks who they will attempt to sign next month.

Sept. 24?? We could be going into the season without knowing what Mckinnies situation is. That's bothersome.
Re: Vikings waive WR Justin Surrency & RB Arkee Whitlock
oh no!!! Justin Surrency could have been a key part of our offense for years to come, and we just let him go and opted to keep old crappy players like turd furgison.
What what Chilly thinking??? TJ SUCKS!!!
;)
Re: Vikings waive WR Justin Surrency & RB Arkee Whitlock
I'm guessing Whitlock makes it to the practice squad unless they've already decided that Young is better than Whitlock. I see the Vikings carrying 3 RB's on the roster & at least 1 more on the practice squad. Both Taylor & AD missed time due to injuries last year & we need the insurance of at least two more.
Whitlock was here last season & the vikings have been able to evaluate him. Young & Hicks were not, so they'll get their shot in camp. Hicks will probably end up being our 3rd back
Re: Vikings waive WR Justin Surrency & RB Arkee Whitlock
No big loss if you ask me.
We are a glut of WR's fighting for the coveted 5th spot that Fergs seems to currently have a hold of and Jaymar Johnson seems to be a outside chance of getting him off the roster or at least making it to the practice squad.
If Justin was that good he would have beat Ferg out.
I really don't have any opinion on Whitlock.
Couldn't make it with the 9rs and is back in the mix with the Vikes.
Could be a practice squad candidate but who really cares about a undrafted FA at this point in time with respect to what we currently have on the roster.
