    Re: Vikings training camp roster

    87 - 34 = 53

Suffice it to say, somebody is gonna get cut or be put on the practice squad that will make some of us unhappy.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

    Re: Vikings training camp roster

Not a bad assembly of talent. Unfortunantly, not all will make the final 53, I see some trade bait at RB and Safety. A real young bunch on the O-line, with Birk and Hutch as the elders there. I thought Richard Owens was a TE, not a FB, but at 273lbs he can jumbo up our goal-line offense.

All 32 teams are stocked up, lets see league wide whom gets released, or traded.

I will be most concerned about the cuts that cause minimal whining.

How many D-Backs does one team carry?
    3 safeties and 6 corners?
    4 & 5?

    There's 8.
    With 5 safeties.
I don't think there's any way in hell they carry 5 safeties.
I think Doss & Blue - and probably Sharper - are on the roster.
So the battle is between Tank and Dwight Smith.

Is it time to talk Dwight at CB again?

3 CBs in Winfield, Griffin & McCauley.
I think Dovonte Edwards has done enough and shown enough to be #4.
And Ronyell Whitaker has shown enough not to be #5.
    I like Charles Gordon.
    Then what?

This will be the most interesting area of training camp for me, even moreso than the WRs.

I agree, the DB competition will be more intersting than WR, proably because they are a lot more talented. We are absolutely stacked at safety. Moving Dwight to DB makes the most sense to me.

Thats 49 players right there.. i'll admit idk too much about a lot of the rookies and lesser known O-Linemen so i just kinda went by what i've seen of them, Herrera makes a decent back up, but i think his is expendable.

In case people are wondering why i have Heath Farwell in there, simply because he is a Special Teams beast.
Mike Doss and Jason Glenn would also be good special team signee's in my opinion.
That'd leave one spot for most likely a young D-Lineman, perhaps one of our rookie DE's.

Oh yea, i also put Jayme Mitchell in there because altho he wasnt given much play time last year, every time i saw him in there as a relieve rusher, he was in on the play, seems like he's got a lot of raw talent waiting to come out

I know this roster is far from perfect, i'm no expert, feel free to suggest changes

(**edited to delete spaces, i made this a huge post lol**)

    Nice breakdown.

I think these guys will land as well.
