I never like trading up, but a linebacker is a linebacker and I like linebackers.
It was only one 7th rounder.
Yeah I know, so it doesn't really matter. I guess we will see what could have been in a few hours.
    We're bringing purple back.

    Seems like a solid pick

Should have gone a little higher

People may have worried about his size or something
I've read the knocks on him are instincts/technique.

6'2" 250 is solid for an inside linebacker, especially the 250. He runs 4.7, and has good agility, so I don't really think the inch of height he lacks is overly concerning.

Yah he does have a good frame

All I saw was his vids and he looked smaller

From what I have read he is pretty much suited for a 3-4 Defense. Had a nasty Knee injury in 2007 and has been limited since then, Everything I have read have him as a 7th round/UDFA so this is kinda confusing.

I'd love to see what he was like before the injury if what he did at the combine was limited full/former speed must be off the charts.

So..........he had 1 solid hit on a QB. That doesn't mean he consistently does it.

Do I need to dig up another big hit where Vikings fans everywhere donned Greg Blue "A Beast".

Where is he now? He couldn't even make the Lions team last year

Re: Vikings Trade up for Jasper Brinkley

The Vikings liked this guy, so we'll have to see what he can do, but the Vikings have not received all that much for moving up in the second and third rounds over the last few seasons.

It would have been nice to see OG Duke Robinson get drafted by the Vikings on day 2 to complete the set, but there will be a lot of players taken before the Vikings will select again.

Looks like a solid run stuffer if nothing else.
Hopefully, EJ is healthy and hungry and we'll only need Brinkley to punish people on STs!!

He might be better recovered a year plus removed...could be a really nice pick!

Don't like this guy's instinct. Here is a highlight of this guy's game against LSU. Don't like he keeps missing the running back.

Bad Pick. Not even a good special teams guy.
