I didn't agree with that either but we still need depth and a good nickel guy.
you can never have too many good CBs on your team.
however our T-2 style defense doesnt call for the elite "shut down" CBs.
That is why i don't forsee us going that route in the first round unless Davis or Jenkins is available.
Well we have Gordon and Sapp on the FA list so it is a concern.

He was too lazy to read the rest of the PPO thread....or watch the games.

That said, I would not be upset if we pick fairly high for the right corner.
I'm not sold on Macauley yet and Sapp could easily be replaced.
Safety is a bigger concern if Sharper is not resigned (I would be surprised if he is resigned).
Tyrell may be next in line to start, but you better have another solid guy that can come in and play...maybe FA target, but I'd be surprised if we went after a high profile guy.

    TOP THREE TEAMS NEEDS

    1. Quarterback: Tarvaris Jackson began and ended the season in this role but spent a large portion of the year on the bench as veteran Gus Frerotte ran the offense. The Vikings continue to look for stability at this spot and clearly are examining all options.
Judging by the poll on PPO, most would agree here. I would have to imagine that Garcia is at the top of their list. He fits the system well and that looks like what we are looking for.

    2. Right offensive tackle: Ryan Cook was the primary starter but found himself benched because of inconsistent play and penalties. Artis Hicks served as Cook’s replacement but a triceps injury sidelined him. It’s unlikely Cook or Hicks will be the starter in 2009. The versatile Hicks is considered more valuable as a backup.
Other than one person, most would also agree here. Cook led the team in penalties and he needs to be replaced. With all the RT in FA, I have to assume we will grab one of them. My favorites are Tauscher and Carey but there are a few more that would be good. I also tried arguing that Hicks is better as a backup for the G position but like always he never listened.
    3. Cornerback: The Vikings clearly would like to add some depth at this spot. Antoine Winfield will be entering his 11th season and the jury remains out on Cedric Griffin as a starter.
Ah yes another position that I mention and people want to argue with me. We need help here period. Teams pass on us like crazy and we need depth. I don't think we will get any big names but I have my eye on Dunta but it looks like he will get a tag. Could be our 1st round pick. Have we ever taken a CB in the first round? Only in 94 and 83. It is time. Winfield is not getting any younger. Vontae Davis, Alphonso Smith and DJ Moore come to mind. All could be decent picks.
Thats funny, NO MENTION of Center?
And I was lead to believe that was the most important position on the team, and we badly need one.

Not to mention that the injury Gordon suffered sure did look bad.
Cracks/breaks are one thing, however, his was off at a angle.
Haven't heard any update, however, bet it doesn't heal over the offseason......
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I haven't heard many good things about Davis.. he was benched earlier this year.. said he takes a lot of chances... and is inconsistent, but has the potential to be the best corner in the draft... sounds like a guy named MCCauley we have on our team now...

I'm hearing Jenkins will probably move to free safety in the nfl....

I think DJ moore might be around when we pick, but i also wouldn't put it past us to draft a RT or a versatile lineman who can play RT and center either...

Gotta agree with you there! Plus, Madieu Williams is very (VERY) injury prone. I think he is a good player, but he seems to get a serious injury evey year. He missed more than half of this season because of injury for example.

    What about Oshiomogho Atogwe?
Emerging player (13 interceptions the last two seasons) from a bad team could become the next big star in center field.
