TOP THREE TEAMS NEEDS
Judging by the poll on PPO, most would agree here. I would have to imagine that Garcia is at the top of their list. He fits the system well and that looks like what we are looking for.Quote:
1. Quarterback: Tarvaris Jackson began and ended the season in this role but spent a large portion of the year on the bench as veteran Gus Frerotte ran the offense. The Vikings continue to look for stability at this spot and clearly are examining all options.
Other than one person, most would also agree here. Cook led the team in penalties and he needs to be replaced. With all the RT in FA, I have to assume we will grab one of them. My favorites are Tauscher and Carey but there are a few more that would be good. I also tried arguing that Hicks is better as a backup for the G position but like always he never listened.Quote:
2. Right offensive tackle: Ryan Cook was the primary starter but found himself benched because of inconsistent play and penalties. Artis Hicks served as Cook’s replacement but a triceps injury sidelined him. It’s unlikely Cook or Hicks will be the starter in 2009. The versatile Hicks is considered more valuable as a backup.
Ah yes another position that I mention and people want to argue with me. We need help here period. Teams pass on us like crazy and we need depth. I don't think we will get any big names but I have my eye on Dunta but it looks like he will get a tag. Could be our 1st round pick. Have we ever taken a CB in the first round? Only in 94 and 83. It is time. Winfield is not getting any younger. Vontae Davis, Alphonso Smith and DJ Moore come to mind. All could be decent picks.Quote:
3. Cornerback: The Vikings clearly would like to add some depth at this spot. Antoine Winfield will be entering his 11th season and the jury remains out on Cedric Griffin as a starter.

Comeon, admit it, Taucher is the only candidate you like....... ;DQuote:

I see this fine journalist enjoys smoking the crack. :oQuote:

I didn't agree with that either but we still need depth and a good nickel guy.Quote:

Definitely, Benny Sapp is a stop-gap performer if I've ever seen one.Quote:

Us Wisconsin men stick together. Born and raised. I am leaning towards Carey only because Tausher has torn his ACL twice. Carey is 27 and a better long term guy.Quote:

however our T-2 style defense doesnt call for the elite "shut down" CBs.
That is why i don't forsee us going that route in the first round unless Davis or Jenkins is available.
