Vikings | Team negotiating with Walls
Tue, 14 Feb 2006 09:35:56 -0800
Jim Bender, of the Winnipeg Sun, reports the Minnesota Vikings are in negotiations with CFL DE Gavin Walls. Agent Ray Savage expects an answer Tuesday, Feb. 14. If no deal is struck, he will return to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Savage is determined to get more than the standard signing bonus of $10,000 US for CFL free agents. He prefers one that would indicate that Walls would be given a legitimate shot at making the final roster.

Re: Vikings | Team negotiating with Walls
We already knew that Johnstone might be gone...as unfortunate as that may be. Luckily we have depth at our D-line and Childress said that he's going to work on improving it even more. So I'm not going to worry too much about it.

Johnstone will probably walk. This is a statement that we will probably not resign Johnstone this offseason.. This guy seems like he is talented, so if we do sign him, I am sure he will be a backup for a few years atleast..

Re: Vikings | Team negotiating with Walls
Maybe they are planning to put him at LB, because not many DE's can make it in the NFL at that size. The only one I can think of under 250 is Mathis(?) for the Colts.

He is being signed as a red shirt. He will have to earn a spot on the actual roster.
