Re: Vikings stole Percy Harvin from the Patriots

Why is this even a story. Just because it's that Pats people are making much more of it than it really is.

All over the draft there are teams that has players taken in from of their own pick.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Notice how nobody ever questions the Patriots picks just because they are the patriots. I wish we drafted that good
Like Chad Jackson and all of the other sweet WRs they drafted? ;D

    They do draft well enough.
However i would equate their draft strategy to be more quantity than quality.
Instead of giving away 2's and 3's for high end 1's, the Pats stock pile picks. This way, when they can players that don't work out (chad jackson) and pawn em off when their system makes em look like rock stars (deion branch) without ever getting into Cap Hell.

Back on topic though, the point is Chilly shouldn't even be mentioning this especially to the media.

The Minnesota Vikings weren't the only team interested in Florida wide receiver Percy Harvin. The New York Jets and New England Patriots were, too, with the Jets so eager they offered Philadelphia an attractive package of draft picks to move to the Eagles' 21st position -- one spot ahead of Minnesota.

Is anyone still not convinced that Harvin was BPA?

    I think he was.
Oher is great, and can be argued as BPA, but I think Percy was the better choice in the end, I think we got a steal.
Ultimately, we got a pretty good combination of Harvin & Loadholt, too.

You could tell we were excited about whom we were going to pick by the way we rushed to the podium with our pick, there was still like 5 minute's left to make the selection. I think we stole a top 10 talent.

With the 22nd pick in the 2009 draft The Minnesota Vikings select, Percy Harvin.... Skol.

    Hmmm.

    Uhgggg...aaah..ooooh....dffffff....nope can't do it.
Seriously, I just tried to care about something that doesn't involve the Black and Blue Division and it just didn't work.

Not sure but i think there strategy was to try to move up in the first, when that fell through they moved back. They do always seem to end up with a lot of picks.

    Because of a hack article?
