I knew that when the OL started flying off the board in the first round that we were in trouble in this aspect. I figure that he finally saw that there was noone left that he had rated high, so Chilly made the moves to get Johnson and Booty and that was that. I hope he has faith in the guys we have.
There are still some decent veteran FA tackles floating around out there to fill the gap if needed.
It appears that Radovich's main weakness is lack of strength...something that can be cured in an NFL off-season weight training program.
He was reportedly pretty agile in drills, so there may be some hope for him down the line.
He also supposedly can play both the guard and tackle positions, which is always a valuable commodity.
Maybe in a few years, we see Moses at C, Sullivan at G (which he can also play), and Radovich at T.
There may be a method to the Vikings' madness after all.
Consider that Chilly values OL and DL play and that hints at the fact that he may be satisfied with the players already under contract.
As all of you know, I am not to concerned over what we need to do with respect to the T position.
I believe Cook will hold his own this year and won't need all the TE support he did last year.
Again, he was a damn rookie for cripes sake.
Did all of you think he wouldn't struggle a bit?
And I'm not so sure that Chase can't come in and do the same.
My guess is that they will help him out (as they did with Cook (and Mckinnie) with a TE if they are consistently getting beat.
Truth be told, I have no issues with going into the first four games with a OL that looks like this......

The hard part that I keep trying to get across here is that if the C and QB don't make the correct pre-snap read and follow-on line calls (QB RB/FB, C OL/TE's
QB/C TE's and WR's) then we won't pick the blitz up as we saw with the last offensive play of the year.
Again, back to the Mckinnie issue.

I still have a strong gut feeling, our FO and Coaches are going to be watching very closely, what Vet OT's are let go this pre-season when the cuts begin.
And I see us trying to pick up one of the time proven vets that still has a couple or few years left in the tank, to come play for us.

They did take Cook and threw him to the wolves last year and he did a pretty damn good job considering his background so I suppose they could do the same with some old grizzled vet on his last legs, however, I would like to think that a guy that is going into his second year in our system would have the leg up on even a grizzled Vet who hasn't been in our system?Quote:

Again, everyone discounts a couple of those cause of how they made the team, however I don't.
They took up a valuable roster spot last year for a reason and that was because the staff felt they had the talent/makeup to step in and hold thier end of the line if called upon.
Long story short, Chase will probably get the nod if (Big If) McKinnie isn't available or can't cut the mustard.
Sullivan and Mozes will compete for the backup C role as both can play gaurd.
If it appears Mozes knee isn't up to par Sullivan wins out.
Regardless, to make room for our backup C this year you will see Hicks jettisoned from the roster to make room.
