I'd rather have Tebow than Clausen. I hate that prick Clausen. Not to mention he sure seems like a flamer. I think he ends up bustin just like Quinn. If we dont leave with clausen, the whole draft is a fail.

I wouldn't shed a tear if that happens. I'm about best player available at your needed position when your pick is in the later portion of the round. As of now they don't need a QB for this year but looking in the future they sure do. Bring him in.ejmat wrote:

FYI, this does not completely solve our secondary issues. I still think we should be drafting someone in the first two days of the draft to help with the secondary.
We're bringing purple back.

Re:Vikings sign Lito Sheppard
Welcome aboard Lito! Could be a great move, for a low price, or at least, not a bad one. And, I was kinda thinking we were getting pushed toward CB by need too...now, we can still go there, or look elsewhere. I'd rather have Pouncey or Iupati or maybe even Best at RB if available at the end of round 1, but I too have had the feeling that the Chiller is going to fall in love with the Tebow...?
I still like the idea of trading out of the first for extra 2nds. There is still a lot of potential available there, and for less money. With an extra pick or two we'd have the firepower to go get who we want to fit our few needs.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

LOL. So CB was a need. Who would of thunk?
Great signing. No need for a CB in the 1st now. Time to focus on QB and G.
Wooooohoooooooooo!

Not sure why people felt we would take a corner in the 1st round. A rookie corner doesn't help our needs at DB. Most rookie Cbs take a couple of seasons to play at a high enough level.
I fear Tebow is coming here because we are in love with him and Chilly thinks he is out smarting everyone by drafting him in the first round.
Riiiiiiiight like a rookie CB can never come in and make a difference.
Why would you fear Tebow? Tim would be a great choice.

I wonder why it was only a one year contract...Sheppard is a fairly young guy, isn't he? Seems like most FA contracts are for at least 2 - 3 years.

Re:Vikings sign Lito Sheppard
I forgot to add that I also think it's a good signing...and just before the Draft, too. I like the strategy...now there could be a little confusion on other teams' Draft boards.
If Taylor Mays falls to us, that could give us a solid secondary, and make our overall Defense pretty damn scary.
On the other hand, I wouldn't mind seeing us draft a QB with the first pick, OR like mountainviking said, trade out of the first for extra 2nd/3rd rounders, since the general consensus is that there's good talent there.
I think this will be a good Draft either way, as long as we don't go for an O-lineman in the 1st round. Not saying we don't need any at all...it's just not enough of a concern right now to spend the 1st pick on one.
