Vikings sign former Gopher WR Hamilton

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Vikings signed former University of Minnesota receiver Paris Hamilton on Wednesday.

Hamilton was on the Detroit Lions practice squad in 2005 and was in Lions camp during the preseason last year.

He was a highly touted recruit when he came to the Gophers out of Tyler Junior College in 2003, but he blew out his left knee and missed all of his junior season. He had just four catches for 198 yards and two touchdowns in his senior season in 2004.

Hamilton essentially replaces veteran receiver Randy Hymes, who was cut on Tuesday.

When I first looked I thought it said Paris Hilton... lol

Well... I wish this guy the best of luck. Maybe he will turn out to be a great reciever!

I played WR in High School, you think I could try out. Here are my stats:

40 time: probably about high 5's now, but hey Jerry Rice was slow too!
Route Running: I am kind of lazy in my routes, I cut corners and do not run them that sharp at all.
Height 6'5"
Weight 220 lbs
Catching Ability: One thing that I actually can do.
Run Blocking: The one part of the game that I love, I love hitting corners.

Anyway what do you guys think, maybe I could get a tryout on the team.

I actually dont mind that the team is looking for talent anywhere they can find aby, and letting people try out because what if there is a hidden gem in one of these guys.
