Re: Vikings select Tyrell Johnson 47th overall
I like it. Adds good depth and we need someone with good coverage and speed. He is the total package. Great Offseason so far!

Re: Vikings select Tyrell Johnson 47th overall
Interesting.
I don't understand why we traded up for a safety, maybe the Vikings don't plan on keeping Sharper after this year?
Or can he play nickel corner or something?
I guess safety was the last position we'd draft there.
Hopefully he's worth the move!
Go Vikings

Re: Vikings select Tyrell Johnson 47th overall
Anyone know what we gave up for moving up?
Hopefully a 6th rounder ... not the 4th rounder.

This guy will be the person who will succeed Sharper when he retires.

Re: Vikings select Tyrell Johnson 47th overall
It is a very good pick considering Sharper's age.
He is a very good safety, and one that a lot of people had ranked a lot higher.
But i just don't understand why we traded up...
I would think he would have been available at the 47th pick given the teams in front of us.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Because of our CAP status after a couple of key signings this year we will have to start letting a few vets go who are at the edge of being productive.
IMHO Sharper is at that edge right now.
The kid is the 2nd best S on the board so the value was good with the pick (Remember Spielman said BPA), he fills a need (ST this year and could come in and start) this year and for the futue.
For all of you who say we have alot of S's those guys are just gap fillers or they wouldn't have been on the FA market. MW and TJ will look good together for years. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
