Not overly excited, but, it's a relatively cheap fix and says that Childress has the same doubts about TJack as many of us do.
I am relieved that there will be a QB competition for the first time ever since TJack was signed against two guys, neither of which is a legitimate starter, that should have a fire under them trying to obtain that coveted starting QB slot.

I wonder if any of the three (TJack, Sage, or Booty) will ever be a top tier QB.
    I have my doubts.
If one of them can play wisely and manage the game it would be a huge move up.
Sage is a knowledgable football guy with some experience under his belt.
At a minimum it will be an interesting training camp.

well if TJ is as good as many say that he is, then he should be able to beat out Rosenfels for the starting job easily. Time to see if he can step up and back up all the talk there is about him.
Will certainly make TC a lot more interesting and a chance to see which QB's develop a better rapport with the receivers.

SR can play. Won't be surprised if he starts week 1.

Above average and dependable QB's are rare in this league.

What we have is not working out so well, so this cannot be any worse.

I believe that they are trying to get a guy that is a little more stable (a little) since we seem to be on the verge of making a big push.
Rather than drafting (gambling) and developing a guy who may turn out to be a bum.

the thing is, Sage is another version of Gus... really really good at times, and then throws an enormous amount of picks at other times... He's basically a younger version of Gus... He's decent, but i don't see Sage getting us to a NFC Championship game or being able to get us over the HUMP!!...

there are other options open, like a Marc Bulger in a trade possibly or some other QB... shoot, Trent Green would be a better option than Sage - i know he's old...

Yes, it can't be any worse, but is it really going to be better??... we have an opportunity to do something special and for that we're gonna hitch our wagon to a inconsistent career back up??

We'd be better off trying to pry Billy Volek from the Chargers...

Good point. I am not pissed he is here but I would like to see us still make a push for Garcia. Although I doubt it will happen.

The QB position regarding FA and the draft is now a dead issue.
Now Marrdro can focus on trying to convince everybody that C is the biggest issue of the offseason.
