Let the smoke screens commence.
I love the way this front office works the offseason, however, they aren't fooling me with the Flacco kid.
They will get some Booty at 74.
74 Vikings (Broncos) John David Booty, QB
Just took my 16-yr old daughter on a campus visit, courtesy of the AD.
My take, after grilling with questions, the Vikes interest in Flacco is real.
That said, I can't see them pulling a #2 on him, which is probably what it will take.
However, as you've stated, the state of QB in the NFL is deficient, elevating prospective draft picks and desperation for many teams.
I like Booty at the 74 slot and think it would be a fine choice...like Flacco there too, if he's around, don't think he will be.
In fact, I like booty alot
8)
Because they took care of DE concerns at 17 they could go alot of ways the rest of the draft.
Here I think they go with the OT because of McKinnies issues and get Booty with one of thier 3rds.
1 Dolphins Chris Long, DE
2 Rams Jake Long, OT
3 Falcons Glen Dorsey, DT
4 Raiders Darren McFadden, RB
5 Chiefs Cedric Ellist, DT
6 Jets Vernon Gholston, DE
7 Patriots(49ers) Ryan Clady, OT
8 Ravens Matt Ryan, QB
9 Bengals Derrick Harvey, DE/OLB
10 Saints Keith Rivers, LB
11 Bills Malcomb Kelly, WR
12 Broncos DeSean Jackson, WR
13 Panthers Johnathan Stewart, RB
14 Bears Brian Brohm, QB
15 Lions Dan Conner, LB
16 Cardinals Mike Jenkins, CB
17 Vikings Phillip Merling , DE
18 Texans Rashard Mendenhall, RB
19 Eagles Jeff Otah, OT
20 Buccaneers Aqip Talib, CB
21 Redskins Kenny Phillips, S
22 Cowboys (Browns) Early Doucet, WR
23 Steelers Brandon Albert, OG
24 Titans Calais Campbell, DE
25 Seahawks James Hardy, WR
26 Jaguars Leodis McKelvin, CB
27 Chargers Chris Williams, OT
28 Cowboys Felix Jones, RB
29 49'rs (Colts) Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB
30 Packers Antoine Cason, CB

33 Dolphins Sam Baker, OT
34 Rams Quenton Groves, OLB/DE
35 Raiders Kentwan Balmer, DT
36 Chiefs Reggie Smith, CB/S
37 Falcons Chad Henne, QB

46 Lions Trevor Laws, DT
47 Bengals Tracy Porter, CB
48 Vikings Gosder Cherilus, OT
49 Falcons (Texans) Joe Flacco, QB
50 Eagles Devin Thomas, WR
I don't think Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is going to last anywhere near this far. I hope we take him if he is there at 17...Then go DE..DE..QB.
;D
Seriously though.
That draft was made up using the top 100 as put out by USA today. I pull the players off according to were they are ranked.
At that time DRC was ranked behind:
16
Cardinals
Mike Jenkins, CB
20
Buccaneers
Aqip Talib, CB
26
Jaguars
Leodis McKelvin, CB
Additionally, I have 2 newer versions of the top 100 (one is a top 350) that that I pay a small fee for that has the same guys ranked higher than him.
That doesn't mean he won't come off first because he fits a certain scheme better, it just means at that point I pulled according to a value board.

Re: Vikings - Rookie visits starting to take shape
I think that Sweed goes first.
4.4 speed and 6'4" makes him a pretty attractive target to build an offense around.
Kelly doesn't get as open, but makes the catch anyway.
A good clutch player, but probably not a true No.1 WR.
However, in our WCO, we're not looking so much for a No.1 as for a guy to be a solid reliable part of the rotation.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

I have the following needs for:
NYJ - WR, OLB, CB, TE which includes a CB but do you really think a CB will go as high as 6?
NE - ILB, OLB, TE, OT. They signed Sanders and Webster as FA.
They might draft a CB but not as high as 7.
BAL - QB, OT, CB, OLB, SS, WR, RB, ILB.
They will take Ryan at that pick or they will could go CB but if Ryan isn't there that means he went high and one of the stud DL/DE or OL fell to them.
No way they take a CB there.
BUF - TE, WR, OL, CB.
They could but I believe they need WR to help out Evans and thier young QB.
Again, my think with data (explanations) against your think.

So they don't make sense to who?
You?
I don't just dream them up my friend.
I actually get them from sites like Ourlads and free ones like this.
http://www.nfldraftscout.com/news/te...draftyear=2008
Not sure why you think you need to be so insulting about it.
Just good football discussion that I actually provide my reasons for and you seem to just pick apart with no justification other than to say you don't agree.
You keep saying how if this team takes this guy or that team takes another guy the CB will be next but it just isn't gonna work that way.
If one of the top 10 guys fall to them they will take him.
No way do the reach for a CB that isn't ranked as high as these guys.
For instance......In my scenario McFadden is already gone and if Gholston is gone then one of the DE/OT/DT's fall to them and they will take them over a CB.
1 Dolphins Chris Long, DE
2 Rams Jake Long, OT
3 Falcons Glen Dorsey, DT
4 Raiders Darren McFadden, RB
5 Chiefs Cedric Ellist, DT
6 Jets Vernon Gholston, DE
7 Patriots(49ers) Ryan Clady, OT
8 Ravens Matt Ryan, QB
9 Bengals Derrick Harvey, DE/OLB
Again, I keep giving you stuff that I've read/researched to come to my conclusions.
To date all you have done is pooo pooo it away based on your love of a certain player.
At best he might get up into the top 10 but right now on this board he is the 3rd (moving up) best CB.
Can't give you Ourlads as I pay for it and Webby will get in trouble.

Or just running races?
Good point, likely answered by xrays etc...I think it will be OK, can't seem to remember a wrist injury really ending anyone's career...?
But, Maybe, the value won't quite be there for WRs in round 1, and we can trade up in the 2nd a tad to snag one of these guys.
But, Miami needs WRs too, having dropped Booker and traded away Welker and Chambers.
Maybe they go WR instead of QB at the top of rd2, and count on QB depth in the 3rd.
This whole draft seems to all start with Miami at the beginning of every round and what they'll do.
Signed a bunch of FA too, but no real big names to answer the many questions and needs they have.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Hmm, is he catching balls?"mountainviking" wrote:
with sweed u have the thought of the lingering wrist injury that kept himn out for most of this yearI think that Sweed goes first.
4.4 speed and 6'4" makes him a pretty attractive target to build an offense around.
Kelly doesn't get as open, but makes the catch anyway.
A good clutch player, but probably not a true No.1 WR.
However, in our WCO, we're not looking so much for a No.1 as for a guy to be a solid reliable part of the rotation.
and with kelly he hasnt worked at all and his stock is falling
thank god we signed BB or we would be screwed

He is now (after that workout) considered to be the best value at WR.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
