Re: Vikings and Redskins close to deal for McNabb

It's just funny how McNabb always gets butt hurt and gets all passive aggressive in press conferences. The guy has talent, but his personality definitely rubs people the wrong way. He also has a lot of charisma, but to some he comes across as slimey. I would not completely hate the move, but I would not love it either. I mean if I can live with Favre as a Viking, I guess I can handle anyone.

Anyway, the time to get McNabb was last year. Give me Orton who would provide just as much with less need for kid gloves once we move to Ponder.

not gonna like it. we will give to much for him even a seven is to much

good QB, but i with some on here about the rental QBs no more.

At least give the youngesters a chance in training camp and maybe the first 2 preseason games to see if we even need a Vet QB.

Not sure why you hate the guy.
Only Brady has done more with less at the WR position. The guy took plenty of teams to NFC games with the worst WR corps ever. Freddie Mitchell... James Thrash... Todd Pinkston. The year he had a WR, he went to the Superbowl. Outside of his stint with the Skins....he was always in playoff contention. The guys a good QB and I can't wait to see him "MJ" for my team.
No explanations, it is just the way it is. You just have to accept the fact that I do and nothing is going to change it.
I accept it... Just trying to understand it.

Why do people keep saying hes a rental QB? Sure it would be a couple years only but he is probably our best chance at a superbowl. Isn't that the goal? Put the best product on the field. He will help Ponder develop into our 10+ year starter and hopefully we have some Aaron Rodgers kind of success. McNabb is the best thats out there RIGHT NOW. Jump on it for a pick that won't make the team and let's get this ship right again and build it up

Orton doesn't have the resume of McNabb. I'll take a QB that competed and WON in a tough division for years. In fact, outside of last season, he is a top 10 QB. I argue he has a top 10 year this season with the lanes AD opens up for him.

Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Terrell Owens (already mentioned), Brian Westbrook (caught so many swings, might as well include him), Donte Stallworth, site-favorite Hank Baskett.

I started out thinking I would prove you wrong, but I can see some validity to your point.

But who do we have? Percy, Rice (longshot maybe), ?, ? Why would he have any better success with us?

You can take away Jackson and Maclin as they played for two years... One of which was their rookie season. ( Jackson 2 - Maclin 1) WRs typically are not game changers in their rookie season

So you have TO ( 1 year) and Westbrook who was always banged up.

Hoping this deal works out...but it would also be very, very nice if he had Rice to throw to.
