Thread: Vikings re-sign Ryan Cook

Re: Vikings re-sign Ryan Cook
Couldn't agree more. What a bum. He is a bum at 3 positions though, so he's versatile  People are crazy to think he would be a better center than John Sullivan.

Re: Vikings re-sign Ryan Cook
Why sign an OL man thats mediocre at only 1 position when you can sign 1 that's mediocre at 3? LOL! More value, not quality, which outside of McNabb seemed to be the theme for the Vikings offseason.

Vikings waited too long in the FA period before addressing the OL.

Maybe, just maybe the coaches are happy going in with the starters they have and Mr. Cook as the backup to 4 of the 5 postions. Judging by all accounts, the OL played pretty good against the Cowgirls this weekend.
Maybe, just maybe us yutz fans (I know I was PO'd they drafted another ZB'ng Center and stuck with Sully) don't know as much as we think we do.
Just saying. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Vikings re-sign Ryan Cook
Apparently some us knew exactly what we were talking about in terms of the last coach and his chosen QB sucking over the past 4-5 seasons so we will stand on our record

Good point, although, there is the new idea being floated around, along with an old idea, that maybe a certain HC wasn't hitched to a certain QB but maybe, just maybe the O-coord was.

Re: Vikings re-sign Ryan Cook
I actually was the first one who floated that on while you were out there watching over us. After further consideration and input from the crowd that notion was summarily rejected.

Re: Vikings re-sign Ryan Cook
His chosen QB the past two years was Favre & there were only a few here that predicted he'd suck. I don't believe you were one of them.

Re: Vikings re-sign Ryan Cook
Did you really expect the OL to play terrible against one of the worst defenses in the league? The Cowboys were 26th against the pass last year.

That's 26th out of 32.
BTW, we lost in case you hadn't noticed.
Didn't you also claim that defenses hold back during preseason or is that just applicable to the Vikings? As a matter of fact it was the Dallas game where you claimed we were holding back.
This is the problem with many fans here. The Vikes have a decent showing against a poor team & they don't take that into consideration.
They then get on their soapbox, proclaim they were right that the OL is/was great & let their expectations & dreams skyrocket. Then it comes crashing down when we play a formidable opponent.
You might want to actually wait until we play a few regular season games, before anointing the OL to be that good.
