Interestingly, I just called him and got his voice-mail and here was the message:
"Hey, TJack here. I honestly be better than they say I am. I have not been given a legit. chance in yankee country, ah, well, ah, hey, I beat out Bollinger, Holcomb, O'Sullivan and my most recent accomplishment was Rosencopter. Sure, I played at a rinky-dink school in the deep south, but, I am da man. Please leave a message and I will sign for damn near nothing as long as you put out a press release that I be makin' millions. I'm really not ready to take the road of the whizzinator yet. Ah, how do I re-record this here message? Did it record? Fuckin' Favre and his blasted wrangler bullshit. How the hell do I re-record this message? Damn it....."Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

Whats going on here? Been away for a few days and you go and post all this stuff that I have no follow-on discussion points with. What exactly are the Vikings supposed to do this offseason?
Revamp our 4-12 team? Oh wait ...
Bottom line, is there has been very little they could do or should do this offseason. They are waiting until the draft to address the few needs and after to maybe get some cut veterans to fill some holes.
Evans and Frampton are both very good for depth. And no matter what you think of Cook in his past, he is a very solid back-up who can play every single position on the offensive line.
Way to bring your "A" game my friend.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Isn't it nice that we are now in a spot were each year we are looking for quality backups (in most cases) that we can develop from the bench, instead of being forced to watch them learn on the field.gregair13 wrote:
This. This so hard. It bothers me that a lot of people on the forums want us to make all these big moves and there is not that much to fix. We need to have a good draft to find some depth and maybe a starter or 2, have Favre come back, and there is no doubt we win the division again. We are very close to a championship. No need to mess it upMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Think about what the Vikes have done in the last 3 offseasons and have some prespective.
The team went to the NFC Championship game and they should have won the game.
Have some faith that they know more than the average Joe Rube.
Excellent post. Excellent post indeed.

I hate it when PUKER posters make more sense than some of our PPO posters........ B)LIke the others said, your team, with a very deep draft coming up and the signing of a low key guy like Lloyd... You don't need to do a whole lot besides that. Money doesn't grow on trees and you're eventually going to have to resign a lot of these starters. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

What quantifies it for you that he is worthless and sucks?Don't get me wrong. I'm not the guy that goes around saying we should sign every single decent player in the offseason. But did you guys forget where we drafted this turd? He was a 2nd round pick! He is also the worst player on our entire roster. Beyond the time to just cut our losses. I would have been happy with any offseason scenario that didn't have us re-signing Ryan Cook. Please name one thing he has done to deserve another contract and I won't say another word. I've been hearing since we drafted him that he is "versatile". What does that even mean? That he can suck at every position on the offensive line?
/rant
Did we win games with him in there?
Did we have the leading rushing attack with him in there?
Again, I get labled as a big Cook lover cause I stick up for the guy, however, looking back on what this staff has done to make this team better, each and every position was/has been addressed to a certain level.
Has that level been what we as fans wanted it to be? Hell no, but you can't sit here and tell me that you thought they were gonna bring in a HOF player at each and every position the first year are you?
Truth of the matter is they have been close with almost every pick they have made with a couple of exceptions and those exceptions can be traced back to the 2006 draft and Mr. I stink as a GM Foley.
For some reason he reached on Cook. Don't blame Cook for where he was drafted my friend. He had nothing to do with it.
And above all, don't blame Cook for being run out there before he was ready in a position he had never played before. All the kid did was go out there and try his damnest to keep the QB on his feet and make a hole for the RB.
Its not his fault that he will probably be nothing better than a versatile backup at each OL position at the NFL level. Truth be told, I bet there are alot of OLmen out there that won't ever achieve that much success in thier chosen profession.
On a side note, I don't hear you beeyyyyatching about him coming in on running downs and spelling Hutch last year. Heck, I bet you didn't even realize he was in there.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

... but seriously, I agree with you and your thoughts on Ryan Cook. Honestly, I think he is a good right tackle when he is not making penalties. I am actually impressed by his pass blocking skills when considering he never played tackle before.
Like Marrdro said, it's not Cook's fault that he was drafted in the second round, and it's not Cook's fault that he was thrown to the wolfs.
Describing Ryan Cook as "the worst player on our roster" is a MAJOR understatement.

Not splitting hairs but if you mean that Cook is better than what he described I believe you mean that is an overstatement. An understatement means he is even worse than described, I am not being a smartass, I am trying to understand what you meant. I think you meant Cook is better than "the worst player ever" am I correct?Marrdro wrote:
