    Vikings re-sign Cook, Evans, Frampton

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/12/vikings-re-sign-cook-evans-frampton/

Can this offseason get any worse? Not only have we done absolutely nothing, now we re-sign the worst player in Vikings history (Ryan Cook). I'm gonna go cry now. FML. Tomorrow we will probably find out that Favre is going to retire and we will be stuck with Jackson at QB again.

Sorry Rick! Keep up the good work.

What exactly are the Vikings supposed to do this offseason?

Revamp our 4-12 team? Oh wait ...

Bottom line, is there has been very little they could do or should do this offseason. They are waiting until the draft to address the few needs and after to maybe get some cut veterans to fill some holes.

Evans and Frampton are both very good for depth. And no matter what you think of Cook in his past, he is a very solid back-up who can play every single position on the offensive line.

This. This so hard. It bothers me that a lot of people on the forums want us to make all these big moves and there is not that much to fix. We need to have a good draft to find some depth and maybe a starter or 2, have Favre come back, and there is no doubt we win the division again. We are very close to a championship. No need to mess it up
    We're bringing purple back.

Yeah ... with Favre back I think we will be the Vegas favorites to win the NFC.

The draft is going to be tough. We have the luxury of drafting for the future, but if we can add a piece that could actually make an impact now, we will be very tough to beat.

Think about what the Vikes have done in the last 3 offseasons and have some prespective.

The team went to the NFC Championship game and they should have won the game.

Have some faith that they know more than the average Joe Rube.

LIke the others said, your team, with a very deep draft coming up and the signing of a low key guy like Lloyd... You don't need to do a whole lot besides that. Money doesn't grow on trees and you're eventually going to have to resign a lot of these starters.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not the guy that goes around saying we should sign every single decent player in the offseason. But did you guys forget where we drafted this turd? He was a 2nd round pick! He is also the worst player on our entire roster. Beyond the time to just cut our losses. I would have been happy with any offseason scenario that didn't have us re-signing Ryan Cook. Please name one thing he has done to deserve another contract and I won't say another word. I've been hearing since we drafted him that he is "versatile". What does that even mean? That he can suck at every position on the offensive line?

As a starter, Cook was terrible. As a backup, Cook is a decent player. Definitely a reach at 2nd round, but he can play any line position, and if we need a guy to step in for a few plays, we have that. We already lost Hicks, losing Cook too would screw us over.

Gonna "cross my fingers" and hope Cook brings his A-Game as a utility back-up and no one gets hurt on the line.

OH YEAH...and they better draft a stud o-lineman! Wouldn't hurt to get a savvy Veteran with the right attitude to be a productive role player as well.

We will have to check back after the draft to see how critical the situation really is...then we can panic.
