    Tough stretch for T-Jack

Here's a four-play sequence that served as a snapshot of the growing pains of young starting quarterback Tarvaris Jackson....

This is a perfect example of how columnists are picking and choosing what they want to report on.
If you were to just read this article, you would get the impression that TJack is a disaster on the field.
Yet several other articles, fromt eh same day, talk about TJack doing fair to good on the field.

I am not buying into it either way.
My guess is that he isn't doing horrible, but he isn't doing great either.
    He is solidly OK.
Which is all I expect from him at this point.
It is the beginning of training camp after all.
That being said, I will say again that I am part of the minority who wouldn't be surprised to see Bollinger start.
I am very pro-TJack, but if we make it to September 9th and Coach Childress thinks that we have a better chance of winning with BB behind center for a couple of weeks while TJ continues to learn and improve, then so be it.
And that my friend is all I want out of him.
We don't need him to be great.
Just good at game management at this point.

Hopefully the greatness will come if it is there.
    ;D

It took seven practices, but Tarvaris Jackson, right, finally hit a deep pass, hooking up with wide receiver Bobby Wade for what would have been a touchdown near the end of the afternoon practice......

    Nice read my friend.

Is it just me (I might just be keying/looking for it) but are our backs getting a lot of picks sor far.

I wonder if it is a result of our QB's sucking or maybe, and I hope, our new D-coord has a little sumthin sumthin going on with respect to pass coverage.

I sure hope it is that latter.

I hope they are disguising coverages, and giving T-Jack as many different looks as possible. He needs to go through his check-downs under as much pressure as can be generated.

Tarvaris Jackson, right, had his ugliest practice of training camp, with interceptions by safety Dwight Smith and rookie cornerback Marcus McCauley the lowest of the lowlights....

That is why it is called Training Camp.
If memory serves me they are still 0-0.
I also remember back in 2005 when Culpepper had 11 TD's and 0 INT's in Pre-season (against vanilla D's) and then was down right horrible in the regular season.
Let's wait and see when the real games begin to see if they are improving...

    This from TwinCities.com

    Jackson sharp during drill
After being criticized on the QB Watch by an unnamed colleague, Tarvaris Jackson sizzled in a six-on-seven drill inside the 15-yard line. I did not keep track of how many passes he threw with the second-string receivers, but Jackson was flawless and had at least four touchdowns, two of them to Martin Nance.

That is tempered by the fact that he didn't do that against the starters, who picked off Brooks Bollinger (Chad Greenway hauled in a tipped ball).

The Defense normally comes into camp ahead of the offense.
Nothing to worry about either way.
