Tarvaris Jackson got off to a strong start in the morning practice, completing all six of his passes during the first 11-on-11 period.....

    Re: Vikings QB Watch

We might have a winner as it relates to coaching decision on who gets cut at RB.

Reserve running back Artose Pinner lost two fumbles during the morning practice, including one in a goal-line drill against the first-team defense.
Like to see him going after the passes.
Question is was it thrown low on purpose so only he could get it or was it a bad pass?
    :

Rice, a second-round draft choice, caught two Jackson passes during the 11-on-11 action, going to the ground to dig out the second.
    I think I have a new hero.
    ;D

McCauley, the Vikings' third-round draft choice, made his second highlight-reel play in as many days with a nifty interception of a Bollinger pass.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I've had a really good feeling about Marcus McCauley!
Now, I hope Rice can light a fire under T-Will's ass!

MANKATO - Three days and five practices into training camp, quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has worked almost exclusively with the first-team offense, while Brooks Bollinger has been getting snaps with the second unit...

The Vikings held only one practice - and in shorts, at that - so the highlights and lowlights were limited....

Here's a four-play sequence that served as a snapshot of the growing pains of young starting quarterback Tarvaris Jackson....

It might be a few days before safety Darren Sharper returns.

The veteran, who sat out a second consecutive practice Sunday after straining his shoulder in a collision with fullback Tony Richardson on Saturday morning, could be out until Friday when the Vikings practice against Kansas City in Mankato.
I'd a loved to see that hit.
    ;D

Nose tackle Howard Green saw extensive action in place of Pat Williams on Sunday. It isn't that anything is wrong with Williams, Childress said. Rather, the coaches wanted to get a look at Green going against the first-team offensive line.
Numbers aren't there but this Green kid does interest me.
Wounder why he never panned out in Houston?

MANKATO, Minn. - Five practices into training camp, the Vikings' starting quarterback situation is still far from settled, but coach Brad Childress gave Tarvaris Jackson a generally favorable early review...

This is a perfect example of how columnists are picking and choosing what they want to report on.
If you were to just read this article, you would get the impression that TJack is a disaster on the field.
Yet several other articles, fromt eh same day, talk about TJack doing fair to good on the field.

I am not buying into it either way.
My guess is that he isn't doing horrible, but he isn't doing great either.
    He is solidly OK.
Which is all I expect from him at this point.
It is the beginning of training camp after all.
That being said, I will say again that I am part of the minority who wouldn't be surprised to see Bollinger start.
I am very pro-TJack, but if we make it to September 9th and Coach Childress thinks that we have a better chance of winning with BB behind center for a couple of weeks while TJ continues to learn and improve, then so be it.
